At least it was just his request, not the record he but of himself, nor a composition he demanded you perform. You're getting off cheaply if these are the only nuts you have to deal with.

As to hostages, you're all expendable except for Kelly Jones. Not coincidentally, she's also the only one who can tell you how much ransom each is worth.

I'm actually not that familiar with Duster's music, I just knew them as a band that had their act together, unlike ours. But it checks out: Bay Area, mid-90s. Don't even know if the guy stayed with them for long.

Chris Lightcap...nice! I was lucky to see him perform with Nels Cline in an apartment on the upper east side last year. It was a great experience...replete with a view of the GWB right behind them. I've chatted with Nels before, but it was a whole new level just chilling over a potluck and talking about Jim Hall and such! Chris is a quite afable bloke as well. Glad you played this.

Irwin: Just back from walking in the snow squall while listening to the program. Your mention of Hot Rats 50th struck a melancholy chord- I was 17 when I bought the album. As much as I appreciated the cover art from the Mothers of invention and some of those zany lyrics, Hot Rats was much more satisfying musically. I'd have to look at the remote stack of LPs- I don't think I kept that record, but I wouldn't mind at all hearing it again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
