i play jesus & mary chain on the jukebox at the bar and there're always people going up to see who it is, or asking me. everyone seems to know who faith no more is.
killing joke i just rarely hear anything about; though both the earlier bands were significant to me in my teens.

The first time I heard J&M Chain's "Upside Down" on a friend's blaster I was quite taken with it. In practically no time I was at a party on Ball State campus that had huge posters of them on the wall and hair envy discussions were going on ("if you could have any one's hair who would it be. Oh, the guy in Jesus and Mary Chain" etc)
