My fave Dick Hyman track. Tho something tells me this whole show is gonna be "fave tracks." I was quite the Moog record hound. Back when they had no collector's value, I'd buy every one i saw.
  2:11pm
Martinibomb:

I been watching some of his piano/moog jams on utube and also someone uploaded some of his video lessons
Avatar 2:11pm
Ursula1000:

^ good one!
Avatar 2:13pm
Ursula1000:

yeah my Moog LP collection is kinda ridiculous---so much fun!
Avatar 2:17pm
Ursula1000:

killer break
Avatar 2:17pm
Mr Fab:

When i started buying these records, the Moog era was only 20 years prior. So I guess used record stores looked at them the way we might look at all those "String Quartet Tribute To - " or Crazy Frog CDs. Yesterday's novelties, straight to the bargain bin. Worked for me!
  2:17pm
Martinibomb:

I really wanted a synth around 10 took me 2 yrs to save. Got a DX100 FM and it sounded nothing like moog.. like how do I program all these "operators"
Avatar 2:18pm
Mr Fab:

I put together a collection for my old blog called "Moog Breakbeats," and yup, this was on it.
Avatar 2:19pm
Ursula1000:

I was living in Miami when I started grabbing these albums used---all the retiree audio files would dump these and all the crazy stereo panning records for like nada---made out like a bandit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm
chresti:

Is there such a thing as a dance step called "The Moog"?
Avatar 2:20pm
Ursula1000:

there should be damn it!
  2:20pm
Martinibomb:

I could see Miami being great for that kinda digging yup
Avatar 2:21pm
Mr Fab:

Dang chresti, there should be! We need some original Sheena's Jungle Room dance crazes. Any choreographers out there that can create The Moog?
Avatar 2:22pm
Ursula1000:

Miami thrifting was great for labels like Phase 4 Stereo
Avatar 2:24pm

Avatar 2:31pm
ARB:

Avatar 2:33pm

That album's going on my look-for list. I think there was a similar Zorn tribute to Serge Gainsbourg that I should also check out while I'm at it.

A good moog workout that doesn't get much notice is Lonesome Electric Turkey by The Mothers from Fillmore East 1971. Don Preston was/is a master.
Avatar 2:35pm
Ursula1000:

His Morricone one is awesome
Avatar 2:38pm
Mr Fab:
