This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

You've seduced me with Ras Michael, I hope the rest of the relationship matches the high expectations you've created.

hi WR - this is not in fact Ras Michael but he is coming verry soon
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:05pm
chresti:

Hello!
Avatar 7:05pm
Flash Strap:

Count Ossie is likely the biggest influence on the Ras Michael sound though
Avatar 7:07pm
Flash Strap:

Hi Chresti! wonderful to see you
Avatar 7:07pm
Flash Strap:

love this Brainticket track
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:11pm
Doug Schulkind:

You know how I got my brainticket? I bought it from a scalper.

You've been a great audience. I'm here all week!
Avatar 7:12pm
Flash Strap:

get out the calipers, we need to measure this scalper

hi Doug!
Avatar 7:13pm
Flash Strap:

so much soul in this Ras Michael track, god I love it
Avatar 7:18pm
Flash Strap:

cool drums on this Ray Kinney, I think
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
WR:

oh oh, I was so happy I wrote Ras Michael when yes I well knew it was Count Ossie. My brother had the 3 LP set in the 70s and I've not heard it since but the sound is firmly imprinted. thank you for it and the Ras Michael too.
Avatar 7:20pm

Ah my great pleasure! extremely cool of your brother, by the way

one of my favorite musical discoveries to have come to me as a prize to give away, this song
  7:32pm
Quinn:

To me!
Avatar 7:33pm
Flash Strap:

every week i flip to a new page in my book, which in this case is some kind of reading primer for families, and collage in all the scrap whites from the week's work and write my notes on top of that
Avatar 7:33pm
Flash Strap:

Quinn! oh how grand!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:36pm

I need to listen to the January 3 episode, I think we were in SF which means I didn't give it my undivided attention.

Welcome coelacanth∅. I'm busy washing dishes. Doug is walking the dog, you have to hold the fort down. (What the hell does that even mean? )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm
coelacanth∅:

squawking over here but no squalling
Avatar 9:41pm

one little squall and that's it; airborne
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm

If you were really inside my brain you would be playing Civilization by Keith Hudson. But that's ok, probably better that we don't totally coincide in Reggae choices
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm
coelacanth∅:

i wish i could zoom in on it! looks so disorganised but i think my notes for sound pieces also look disorganised to others -but i have a formula and it works, as you likely do
Avatar 9:57pm
Flash Strap:

@WR: ah man for some reason I don't have "too Expensive" what's up with that? next time
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:57pm
WR:

Also I am limited in the Keith Hudson albums I've heard.
Avatar 9:57pm
