This Herman Apple Xmas record is in every bin here in Quebec. Great Canadian percussion xmas record.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Otis, I played a track of that album on Radio Focus, but found it hard to find any info on him online, other than he was/is a Canadian musican and conductor...
  2:16pm
Martinibomb:

really enjoying the show today Jan great sounds and I hate xmas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Otis Fodder:

Did not hear about Herman Apple until I moved here. It's really just that one record, but I did find a 7" where he did some promo stuff for dog food in the 60s. I see his name popup on cover credits sometimes, but don't know much, just that he is from Montreal and that Xmas percussion record is a gem.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:18pm
Jan Turkenburg:

That makes two (at least) of us. X-mas used to be a friend of mine, but that was long ago and I don't think we'll ever be on speaking terms again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm

God Bless Tiny Tim.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm

I could listen to a whole show of just this Popp mix. Bravo Marco!

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:40pm
Jan Turkenburg:

After this piece I ask him: I notice that play a lot more notes with your left hand than are in your book and he answered, yes: I saw my teacher playing them from the corner of my eyes and I've put that in my head.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:42pm
Jan Turkenburg:

He comes from a very kind family. They always were there when i played somewhere. I'm thinking to look them up coming year and see how they are doing now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Otis Fodder:

I am sure they would love to hear from you. This segment (interview/lesson) has me smiling. Just great.

Weirdomusic. hadn't thought of that name for a while. Good resource in the early days of the www. They had all those audio streams, too.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Are we talking about the same weirdomusic?
Marco had/has a site called weirdomusic.com on which he listed all sharities he could find each week back in the days. Can't recall he also had streams
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Weirdomusic used to be his artist name as well.
  2:55pm

Hi, lets greing this up on the "Once there was a marvelous mailing list"? on facebook. This is so neat.

Wasn't it weirdomusic that had all those radio channels? One for exotica, one for psych, etc.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:03pm
Jan Turkenburg:

That I don't recall...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
Otis Fodder:

Trying to rack my brain too. I do remember Marco's lists of sites. For stream links, was it PCL Linkdump or another site? Maybe Marco has stream links too. It's all such a memory blur.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm
Otis Fodder:

We were ALL sharing so much. It's hard enough trying to remember what we shared. Ha.
