"Get the hell out of here."
Funniest Belock moment of the year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm karlward:

I hope to hear some Low Doses!
Avatar 12:09pm Snoochienucci:

Hey Joe, I know you have live bands on all the time. My one great friend has a band, he writes all his music, alot of which have lyrics that have to do with various NJ related things, including rutt's hut and hot dogs. Check him out when you have a chance, its a goal of his to make it onto WFMU in some form, im sure he would love to play on your show, and i think his music style would be a good fit! johncozz.bandcamp.com

The Ribeye Brothers' next show is January 11 at the Asbury Park Yacht Club (1000 Ocean Avenue).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Mike Sin:

WFMU is the Xmas gift that keeps on giving -- it was joy to work on some of these sessions! They provided me with a lot of fun, and I'm lucky for all the great experiences.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Very nice! Thanks for hosting all the good live rock over the decade. Looking forward to Diane Kamikaze's fill-in for Julie this Thursday.
12:48pm Listener Phillip In The Bronx:

Sooo happy you came in this x-mas holiday Joe B.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm mariano:

Missing Monuments has one of the best lines in rock-n-roll: "I'm gonna blow myself! I'm gonna give it all I GOT!"
Avatar 12:52pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Sorry, Joe. It happens.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Handy Haversack:

Been putting in my half day of work and so haven't had much time to comment, but the show has been great. Thanks, Joe! And all the engineers. Driver 8, take a break!

Great show, Joe! Happy that I'm off work today and able to listen. Also a great reminder of how lucky WFMU is to have so many talented engineers willing to volunteer their time to record these sessions!

"If anybody talks about a dead guy during a broadcast, I'll sack 'em. I'm sick of dead guys. Whenever I turn on baseball, all I hear about is dead guys. If I hear a name, I'm going to ask: 'Is he dead?' And if he is, you're fired." - Fox Sports President David Hill in The Cultural Encyclopedia of Baseball (Jonathan Fraser Light, 2005)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm steveo:

great show by the way :)

  2:30pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

Fab show Joe! I hope to be down the shore next wkd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm efd:

@Marc15 I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure. You might be thinking of the Split Squad, which includes Baseball Project sideman Josh Kantor (and frequent Minus 5 sideman Michael Giblin).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm crateslinger:

I watched John Doe in Roadhouse last night. He gets a cool death.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm steveo:

what about the feeling I get in the Garden State?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm mariano:

Remember Imaginary Icons and their song Lucifer Rise? Did they ever play in the studio?
  2:36pm scott:

What is the difference between Successful youth and Wasted youth?
  2:41pm Marc15:

@evan: Yes, that is probably what I am remembering. Thank you
  2:42pm choggie:

successful youth -or+ # of scores vs. wasted youth

  2:43pm choggie:

Wasted youth/Optimized youth
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm steveo:

you didn't say "wrong answers only" so i'll just speculate that that song was about the time wasted on a dead-end relationship
  2:45pm Dan in Meadville:

Great show

True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country-Kurt Vonnegut

i saw kurt vonnegut in the street once but it was not near the chelsea hotel
Avatar 2:54pm David Shortell:

Those alleged quotes by Shaw and Vonnegut appear to be unsubstantiated.

thank you, joe! great great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Joe, and Merry Christmas. You can give your intern a project to put in links to the playlists where these live shows originated.
