nice Sleepy anecdotes Dave. We got to back him once mid 80's at the George Robey in London. I wish I could do it again as I think I'd be better able to keep up, and know more of the material, but it was an honour. He also taught us shotgun bass so I played my doghouse while our rhythm player played electric. We also wrote a tribute song to him "Mountain Man". My own little anecdote was that in the middle of one of his burning solos he broke the top E string. He finished the song without you even realising he was a string down. He then started an anecdote of his own while reaching in to the top pocket of his western jacket and pulling out a replacement string. All the while talking he restrung the guitar, a few turns of the peg to get in tune, then finished talking and back on the four the floor attack. Possibly the most professional thing I have ever seen! C
