Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from January 3, 2020 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Definitely hope to return to Twain during the coming year, GST! But also, believe it or not, Pilgrim's Progress and Malory's Morte d'Arthur. Portland is famous for Powell's (where I picked up the Browning), but I also visited Melville Books on Alberta, a very tiny store with a marvelous selection of used, fairly priced books. That's where I got the Dickens. And then I walked across the street to the Irish pub to read a bit over a pint. Also made it to Beacon Sound, a very cool record store in PDX. I left with a Xenakis Persepolis reissue on LP, an old America album, and Michael Muller's recent LP on the Beacon Sound label.

10pm finished work, yes a fun day. Couple of homemade cheese tacos & beer dinner. Now more beer & pistachios and continuing to listen. Am I really going to listen to all three hours tonight, dunno but as far as I am concerned the show is a huge success.
