Wow, New Sounds literally changed my life. It changed the way I thought about music. I think it started around the time I moved to NYC, I have hundreds of recordings of it . I volunteered at and donated to WNYC to make up for it
Gaylord, it's fun when inspiration strikes at the last few moments. At least it didn't strike in the last few moments of the song, making you run into the record library!
i hear new things i love on your show. Fascinations Grand Chorus being the latest example.

Sitting in front of the fire with a drink, this show, and the Elvis Costello autobiography—Gaylord, can you write me an excuse to get out of work tomorrow on account that I’m way too cozy?
There is/was a local talk radio personality out here in Seattle that was a huge fan of The Defranco Family - used to play "Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat" during his show...maybe he still does, but I haven't listened to that station much in a couple of years or more.
@mod mokka matti how's your new year started? btw, speaking of american finns, I read an interesting interview/article from Helsingin Sanomat about Tissari family who (after careers in the US - from being a soundman for stadium bands to having a restaurant in a well-to-do New York area) left US for the country of their origins, Finland as there was a restaurant in a small village that had been kept there by their greatgrandparents since early 20th century or was it even late 19th? A bit of a change there.

It’s in Dolby 5.1, how many ears is that? I was an English major ...
happy birthday...grady thomas many contributions...lead vocal on...i call my baby pussycat...also a birthday wish to the great chris stein...thanks again for the highway quality...
@huomenta: It's still early into the new year, so hard to say for sure. Hopefully it will be better overall than the past few. That article sounds interesting. BTW, Supposedly, the farm that one of my Great Grandfathers left in the 1800s over in Finland is still going, according to my cousin, who went over to the old villages with her family a couple years ago
