Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm
Mr. Pumpy:

Not much to report at this time, however he is in a shit facility and being new to it...what the hell was I thinking about at the time other than getting him out of the hospital?! After a few arguments I had his medical records forwarded to Kessler in West Orange and I'm hoping to move him. I know none of these place are five-star hotels, but I also know total shite when I see it. The were reluctant and talked about meeting and such, but I just told them he is entitled to share his information and things began happening. I got a confirmation that they received his report and we'll see where it goes from there. What is really sad is the fact that so many patients don't have the wherewithal or family support to advocate for them...and these institutions milk the insurance companies with minimal care. Sad.

@Mr.Pumpy: Sorry to hear. FWIW, when my parents were hospitalized when I was younger, the “crap” hospital treated them better than the “bad” one. Not meant to bring discomfort, but even so-called “bad” places have positives sides. Hope it works out.

The dad of a friend of mine in high school had six fingers. They weren't like his though. It was like a claw thumb and he could pinch people with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
Mr. Pumpy:

@Jake...thanks, man. I appreciate what you are saying. I am keeping an open mind and I'm judging the people more than the rooms and food and such. I value your input. I'm new at this, other than being a patient so many times from breaking shit and being a daredevil all the time. To your point, I had operations-a-plenty and things like that, and I went to a dive hospital for 20 years...and loved it. This place is just lame, on a human level. It may yet reveal it's hidden treasures, but I'm not feeling it. To your point, I'd rather move him to a rickety place with good people.

I remember for awhile, around the corner on the other side of what had been Crazy Al's, Bill Levin had what amounted to novelty shop. I honestly can't recall what they sold or what it was called but they had a sign advertising a sale on air guitars. I honestly think it was just there to hang out, they all had the sales instincts of the feminist bookstore clearks on Portlandia.
