Rough translation of lyrics to "Nafas"

Even If the only distance between us is one breath, then take my breath
To become one, if my death is enough, then take my breath

Oh, dear you, who lives under one roof with me
Oh you, who always cry with me

Even crying was a distance, so our last crying was the end of love game, was the end of this caravan

Imagining you, burning in fire of each breath
It's a sorrow but not that endurable

Your new companion in vigil
Quivers, full of love spears
There is not even a rifle-pit

Yesterday is good, still
a pattern of me on a cross, sew it on your garment
In the time of love's nakedness, with this worthless pattern, burn in fever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47am Doug Schulkind:

Apropos of food, does saffron really have a noticeable flavor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am Doug Schulkind:

@Listener Gregory
There are probably two post-Revolutionary musics. One from inside Iran and one from those currently in exile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Doug Schulkind:

@βrian
Saffron absolutely does have a flavor. It has to, given the expense. (But no, really, it does.)

(Says the 'pedia: "Iran now accounts for approximately 90% of the world production of saffron.")

I'd like to say how much more I appreciate this stream compared to when I first became an FMU listener. I used to swim on over here for maybe one program a week, now I spend about half my time here. Music is great, the boards are friendly.

Phillipe B, I learned, from Mary Wing, that the studio where the mothership station broadcasts is huge , with the computer screen waay across the room, far from the turntables, making it difficult for the DJs to quickly respond on the comments board.

Most radio Djs don't have comments boards. It defiantly makes WFMU a unique community. It is pretty great to get that kind of feedback from listeners in real time.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am Doug Schulkind:

A favorite of yours, Gina B, is a favorite of mine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Webhamster Henry:

I keep pushing for other local stations to emulate the WFMU radio engagement model. WFMU has a project, The Audience Engine, that's supposed to help with that, although I don't know how active it is. But most stations don't even have the rudiments of real-time information: live playlists, live schedules, mirrored social media posts.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:50am Brian in UK:

@Martinibomb, this station is far and away the most switched on of any station in the (un)known universe.
I switched it on about two hours ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Doug Schulkind:

I see we've been joined by the illustrious MartiniBomb! MB can be heard Wednesdays (4-7pm ET) on WFMU's alternate stream Sheena's Jungle Room: wfmu.org...
  10:51am Marie:

I just learned that Quentin Tarantino was an Elvis imitator and he performed on "Golden Girls" and the residuals from that were what allowed him to make Reservoir Dogs (looking at older comments). I guess yesterday was Elvis's bday.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:51am Artie:

Za'atar on a sitar, the Persian stylings of a well seasoned clavier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Webhamster Henry:

The WFMU chatboard cleverly keeps it simple: no pictures or bold text, mostly hidden URLs that don't auto-fetch, etc. and of course, ad free and WFMU doesn't do anything much with your song, show or DJ likes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Doug Schulkind:

I see we've been joined by the illustrious Webhamster Henry, to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude for more than we know (but including designing the beginnings of WFMU internet existence).

Hi Marie!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:53am chresti:

  10:54am Dean:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Doug Schulkind:

Skeleton of the Gopher was the name of my first band in high school.
Avatar 🥁 10:54am βrian:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Doug Schulkind:

@Marie
My pleasure. Be sure you're sitting down when you listen to Googoosh!
  11:03am Dean:

I confess, βrian, that my buddies and I did indeed listen to "Revolution No. 9" backwards on a 'table that allowed us manually to spin the platter in reverse.

When you can quadruple-task and take the pebble from my hand, Grasshopper, you will be a man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Phillippe Bastille:

@chresti @10:40 apparently my office is even bigger since it's taking me an hour to respond to you ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Doug Schulkind:

J.B. & The V-Kings are covering Otis Redding here. Up next, THE REAL THING.
  11:40am Funky16Corners:

Oh wow! I have a JB and the V Kings 45 but it’s an instro. I had no idea they’d done anything else.

Hi Doug. Happy New Year. So far so good and only 10 days in. Great show and the beginning of a swathe of WFMU listening ahead for me. You are appreciated as always. Thanks.

Otis came to Madison, but never left, sadly.

May I just say this has been a stellar show worthy of a star of its very own?

See you and all here next time, if mean sea level doesn't rise here too much more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Doug Schulkind:

Is he the biggest fool in town? A fallen star? Does he have dreams and love us more than he can say? One things for sure, he's not pretending. In all his glory, he is UNCLE MICHAEL!

Stay tuned to hear the marvelous Hinky Dinky Time, next on your 24-hour Drummer Stream.

  11:51am Funky16Corners:

It’s an amazing soul version of Roger Miller’s ‘Dang Me’, which is every bit as good as it is improbable
  11:52am Funky16Corners:

The turnaround in this song sounds like A Change Is Gonna Come
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Doug Schulkind:

@Funky16Corners
I have "I Can't Stop Crying" and "I Can Make You Happy" from Sam Hutchins, but not "Dang Me." Dang it!

I'm guessing the flip side of this Weeks track is a Spanish language version of the same tune.
