@therese loved that version of tales of brave Ulysses, could not find it on Spotify though all well
Avatar 5:09pm Mod Mokka Matti:

Good Day, Therese! Ooooh, I get to put all those years of German study back to use with this current track :-)
  5:10pm John from Florham park:

@Chresti howdy
  5:11pm melinda:

I would not have guessed this is Leonard
  5:13pm John from Florham park:

@Melinda blew my mind too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm ParUbi:

Hey everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Therese:

Hi folks! Thanks for checking in!
  5:18pm Jett:

That Leonard Nimoy sure can belt 'em out. Christina Applegate's mom isn't all that bad a singer.
5:25pm Daybreak: Living In The Future: 2020!:

i saw some poor confused crocus shoots just breaking the surface in my back yard!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm fleep:

Greetings, Therese!

melinda: your previous question: "walk the cat" is shorthand for letting her run around outside, climb the jacaranda, sniff the nearby car tires, etc.
Avatar 5:27pm geezerette:

Tumble weeds hitched from Joshua Tree.
  5:27pm John from Florham park:

@Daybreak howdy ready to teach those young minds something?
  5:27pm Vincent Nifigance:

Read about these tumbleweeds invading Washington State too...
  5:28pm Vincent Nifigance:

@JohnFromFlorhamPark Happy New Year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Franco Twinkie:

Therese, did you take pictures of these misplaced tumbleweeds? And if you did,can we see them?
Avatar 5:28pm tomB:

Stories of people in SW US decorating tumbleweeds in lieu of conifer began appearing in th 60s.
  5:29pm John from Florham park:

I never thought I was going to say this but I wish it would stay cold for a while, people can get sick from these up and down temperatures
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm listener 126464:

Hi Therese, hi everybody!
  5:30pm John from Florham park:

@Vincent same to you too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Mr. Pumpy:

Great show so far, Therese. Thank you! Remember, the equation for Algebra Suicide is 1x + 2x = xxx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Franco Twinkie:

There is a neighborhood in Tuscon called Winterhaven, and every Christmas people throw all this holiday junk all over their front lawns, including snowmen made of tumbleweeds,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Therese:

@Franco Twinkie- I did not, but I will if I see another. Or the same one again...
Avatar 5:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sounds great - so glad this is on.
...Yeah they say the body is like a sponge getting squeezed when temps rollercoaster...
  5:37pm Officer Pupp:

Wow this Charly Bliss song really channels Jane Wiedlin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm Franco Twinkie:

When I was younger I would have a sneezing attack if it was hot in the East Bay and I drove into the San Francisco fog.
Avatar 5:39pm Mod Mokka Matti:

While it seems the East coast is entering spring/summer mode, we here in Pugetopolis (Western WA) are still chilly and anticipating some snow in the lowlands in the next day or so. At least that's what I heard on the radio - though as a native, I know well enough to not count on any degree of accuracy in local weather forecasts...
Avatar 5:39pm geezerette:

Great hearing all the female rockers. :)
Franco, I grew up with tumbleweed snowmen.
A lot of regional humor in the west.
Avatar 5:40pm geezerette:

...and everywhere else.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Franco Twinkie:

Hi Geezer! Happy New Year!
Avatar 5:41pm geezerette:

Franco, you too! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Mr. Pumpy:

@Therese...did you used to bar tend at a place near WARSAW in Brooklyn? I have a memory of a bartender there a year or so ago hearing me mention WFMU to my buddy. We got to talking and it turns out she hosted a show on Sundays on WoofMoo. Anyhow...if so, I went to that place months back...and it was closed! If it's you, I hope you landed another bartending gig, if that's what ya want. Thanks for the tunes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Therese:

@Mr. Pumpy- That was probably DJ Samantha.
Avatar 5:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

In North New England - you know Winter will trick you - & always get revenge...
Avatar 5:49pm tomB:

Speaking o tumblin' tumbleweeds, it was the opening song at th Town Hall concert for Inside Llewyn Davis: Another Day, Another Time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Franco Twinkie:

I have a green fuzz allover the patch of dirt I call my front yard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Mr. Pumpy:

@Therese...ahhh. Thanks. Does she have a show on here still?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Therese:

She's living in Berlin now- I hope she's back on the air at some point.
  5:52pm Russ in NJ:

Hi Therese, did you say a few weeks ago that you're from Hazlet? I'm in Matawan. Love the show and it's become part of my Sunday wind-down routine. Well, maybe I'll run into you some day...peace...Russell
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Therese:

I was in Hazlet a few weeks ago, but I'm not from there, no.
  5:55pm choggie:

jelly sandwiches peanut butter banana moon pies and Suspicious Minds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm chresti:

Howdy back John.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Mr. Pumpy:

@Therese...the first track of today's set caught my eye in that it is on the Elektrohasch Schallplatten label. I got into this label as it is owned and operated by Colour Haze guitarist/vocalist Stefan Koglek. Colour Haze is a great fuzzed out rock band from Germany. I suggest you give them a spin, if you haven't already. They just dropped their 13th album, 'We Are'. Also, a personal favorite, and a good starting place, is Tempel (2006).
  6:04pm Jett:

Is Elvis still alive, Therese? I thought I saw him squeezing tomatoes at the supermarket about 2 years ago.
  6:07pm Jett:

Like these?

Avatar 6:11pm YesthatMattHall:

This will mark me as, well, unusual, but earlier this week while walking my poodle I realized that ZZ Top's "Jesus Just Left Chicago (and he's bound for New Orleans) " is probably about Elvis, and not Jesus really at all...
Because Elvis was often "in the air", and as the lyric goes, "taking care of business is his name."
  6:11pm Jett:

Danzig with that wide belt and rhinestones?
  6:11pm choggie:

Therese wants to touch Glenn and Danzig all over
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm Therese:

I most certainly do not, @choggie.
  6:14pm Jett:

You're funny, Therese!

Just keep the great music coming. Thanks always!
  6:16pm choggie:

tee hee, sure sounded like some raw animal attraction there...
  6:16pm choggie:

go watch his version of Christina Aguilera's hips don't lie on YouTube
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Mr. Pumpy:

Loving this Negativland so much! This band always delivers...even after all these years.
Avatar 6:18pm YesthatMattHall:

Yeah, this Negativland is just amazing.
  6:21pm Jett:

Gotta go with Dave Edmunds' version over Linda's.
  6:23pm John from Florham park:

I miss linda singing
  6:26pm Jett:

Linda was quite awesome, especially during the sixties and early seventies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Ken From Hyde Park:

We'll always have her Plow King commercial -youtu.be...
  6:28pm John from Florham park:

@Jett I consider her awesome when she did show tunes and a threesome doing a Neil young song after the gold rush
  6:33pm Jett:

@John After that Prelude version it seemed a bit redundant not not a bad performance. I tended to always prefer Country sounding Linda! She was extremely talented. When I saw the documentary at the theater last summer, I felt very sad afterwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, everyone. Late to the party!
Avatar 6:45pm northguineahills:

The Bolt!
  6:45pm Danger:

This playlist is off the hook!!!
  6:46pm John from Florham park:

  6:46pm John from Florham park:

I meant library

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm ParUbi:

Foot tappin' Lightning Bolt!
  6:49pm Jett:

In case you don't know about Prelude, they were an English acapella group. Had a hit in 1973 with this:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Handy Haversack:

Always! Was just thinking about how to dress up the pizza leftovers for the night!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm chresti:

I like this bolt, it's really bonkers!
  6:54pm John from Florham park:

Jett thanks will give that a listen later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm mariano:

Hi Therese and everyone!
Avatar 7:04pm YesthatMattHall:

This Machete song totally kicks ass. Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm mariano:

Wooden machete she's saying, interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm chresti:

Lumpy Records, I like that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm ParUbi:

My daughter's friend just got a machete for Xmas. 12 years old. Love Ani Cordero though. Was this the show she played live on recently?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm Handy Haversack:

Sounding great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm ParUbi:

Found it. She was on Transpacific Sound Paradise: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm chresti:

I'm trying to imagine what it would've been like if I got a machete for my 12th birthday..
  7:24pm phat:

so, that Double Rainbow song was supposed to be that way...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm ParUbi:

Had a kind of yacht-rock sound to it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm mariano:

My great-grandmother slept with a machete under her bed. Tough old Honduran lady, lived to 106.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm chresti:

Oh yeah, ParUbi, I remember that show.
  7:34pm Brendan:

Really sad . Neil Peart passed away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm ParUbi:

It was such a good show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm chresti:

Dirty Knobby Records.
  7:37pm choggie:

Hehehehe, I'll bet Glenn Danzig is somewhere in New Jersey right now practicing for his Elvis cover album in the mirror without a shirt on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm ParUbi:

Heh. And the guy behind this is apparently the current bassist for Mudhoney
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm chresti:

I don't think I anyone that works in a firm
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm ParUbi:

I don't either. I have a friend who used to work at a glossy magazine, but that's it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Tome:

Wonderful Therese as always ejoying the outdoors even now , bit windy but hey it's great !<>!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm ParUbi:

I'm going to have to bookmark that Lucifer Was at bandcamp. Love the flute on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm mariano:

Thanks Therese, and happy New Year if I haven't said it already!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Tome:
