Greetings from Los Angeles, Jeff. Been lurking the last few weeks. Stopping in to thank you for consistently churning out good music. I've asked before, but if you know of any good shows coming up out here, I'd be much obliged. Thanks again, and peace!

Saw Budgie at the Whisky in Hollywood but once decades ago. Would love to have seen the Fairies. Rush, meh, but I get the sentiment. Dude was too young.
  10:12pm

Do you know The Dogs, the Detroit trio? Saw them, too, at a high school auditorium!

@Dean: I dont think so. They have any albums?
  10:16pm

Maybe one sorta compilation. A couple singles, "Slash Your Face" being the most readily available one tmk. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DjihfC-UTs

My family says I’m too negative, so RIP Mr. Peart. You did well and left a mark on this soil.

YES!! This is you captain speaking.
  10:18pm
steveL:

Hot Meat!!
  10:18pm
Dean:

Yes, my point above was precisely that while I never got into Rush, I recognized the affection not just the band but Peart himself attracted. And anyway, I don't like hearing about the demise of folks whose careers contributed to the trajectory of my own, however indirectly.

Wow. that was weird. Just was watching a trailer for the Banff film festival tour. Jumped to a random spot in the promotional video when an alarm goes off on a radio alarm clock, and there's "you're listening to WFMU east orange...". But then I realize I'm running two audio. It was so perfectly timed. ThanksJeff!

I know what you mean about musicians' musical tastes, Jeff. I know a few working jazz musicians, absolutely mesmerizing to see/hear playing, encyclopedic knowledge of jazz, and a good bit of what they've recommended to me sounds like smooth jazz or new age.
