Chi Bill - the other way around
Woo - written by Boyce & Hart

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Woo:

Sorry about the mis-info I thought it was Boyce & Hart but I did not check my facts. Always check. @Chi Bill, Good Lovin was a cover that the Rascals did, original was from around 65.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Handy Haversack:

This Baby Shakes is killer.
Avatar 12:14pm Joe B:

That doc is being screened at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn IL on Sat. Jan 25, followed by a set by Dave Alvin & The Guilty Men. And the Morells feature highly in it. Haven't seen it myself.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Handy Haversack:

Joe, after hearing them on your show and with encouragement from Hoboken Jack and Michael 98145, I caught Dares at the Well in Brooklyn on Friday. Great set -- even with crazy-making EDM coming through the wall!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Hoboken Jack:

Hello Joe, Krys, and all you muck-mucks out there!!
Avatar 12:57pm Joe B:

HH, wish I had gone to that show! Dares are great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Handy Haversack:

It was a blast! Introduced myself to the band, too, and had a good chat about FMU!
Avatar 1:01pm Joe B:

very cool. never been to or even heard of The well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Handy Haversack:

Weird industrial space. Huge, really. Bands in a concrete and cinder-block ... former loading bay? Big outdoor space, too. Convenient to Newtown Creek, for the boaty crowd!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Judging from the second picture, it might be a performance space for ants. www.thewellbrooklyn.com... Pretty cool, though.
  1:16pm John from Florham park:

Hello three chord monte fans
Avatar 1:18pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

"Food Fight" was a Billy Miller favorite (along with "Big Mac" from same LP). Remember the Milledge People?
  1:18pm Mark in Toronto:

Joe, it doesn't count if its that new wave Village People album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Woo:

the Village People? Same ones?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Rich in Washington:

This record continually evades me. I must have it!
The first time I heard it, I thought it was some LA, Dangerhouse band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Rich in Washington:

Yes, this was their Village People Go New Wave album, complete with harlequin outfits and makeup.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Michael 98145:

@Handy H, i can well believe Dares would be a great live band.
Avatar 1:20pm Snoochienucci:

really ROMPPPIN, didnt realize the VP got to these levels
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Handy Haversack:

Thanks for the tip, @Michael98145.

I am totally OK with New Wave Village People!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Michael 98145:

so many bands i would have never discovered w/o WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Woo:

Wow, I like New Wave Village People. You always learn something listening to WFMU.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Hoboken Jack:

Food Fight! New Wave punk! I love it!

The Jay Vons !!
  1:25pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

I suspect I’ll be singing “Ich bin cool” in my head for the remainder of the day . . .
  1:27pm John from Florham park:

@Michael 98145 between this station and a internet station called radio paradise, I have heard really great music, to the point where I have given up on commercial rock radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Michael 98145:

i confess i don't even know how bad commercial radio has probably become
  1:30pm DG:

OMG, that VP song is great! (a You Tube commenter says, accurately, it sounds like "The Ramones ate Devo"). I knew they went new wave/romantic for an album, but had no idea they did stuff like this. Someone please cover this for the next Hoof&Mouth (I'll play keys).
  1:30pm SeanG:

dorchester, massachusetts represent
  1:33pm John from Florham park:

@Michael 98145 let me put it to this way, how many times can you hear stairway to heaven
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Rich in Washington:

John from Florham park: Legend has it that Robert Plant was driving up the Oregon coast and listening to the radio, heard KBOO Community Radio's pledge drive offer to NOT play Stairway to Heaven if someone donated within the hour and Plant then phoned in a princely sum to seal the deal.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:36pm OnTheTrain:

I dont know, but the Stereo Total track is like rocking out to MDZhB
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Rich in Washington:

While generous, the joke was on him, as no self-respecting KBOO DJ would EVER play Stairway, or any Zep for that matter.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:37pm OnTheTrain:

www.sigidwiki.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Handy Haversack:

Sometimes WFMU won't come in on the bathroom radio at the caboose end of the railroad apt. so extreme measures have to be taken. Though I usually find that I'd rather hear what Mack from Garden City has to say on WFAN than hear Yet Another U2 song on 104.3.
  1:38pm John from Florham park:

@Rich somehow I believe it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Rich in Washington:

It's mentioned in KBOO's wikipedia entry so it HAS to be true, right?
  1:40pm John from Florham park:

@Onthetrain I remember hearing that when I got into shortwave a few years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Michael 98145:

@OnTheTrain, wow. Bryce-ready!
  1:41pm John from Florham park:

@rich I think Wikipedia is really good about correcting mistakes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Rich in Washington:

Near KBOO on the dial is our local classic rock station. The joke I remember growing up with 'keep tuning your dial to the left until you hear Led Zeppelin'. It's true though. KGON would play the same goddamn Zep songs every day, spread throughout the day. They're now owned by a big conglomerate and voice-tracked, so it's even worse now.
  1:45pm John from Florham park:

@Rich that’s why I don’t listen to stations like KGON anymore
  1:47pm John from Florham park:

@Rich ever since entercom took over from CBS radio WXRT out of Chicago has gone down hill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Handy Haversack:

Never heard this song before. It sounds so different from DJr.'s older *and* newer stuff.
Avatar 1:55pm Joe B:

sounds like lou should have saved it for a sebadoh album
  1:55pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Shut Up Little Man!! O wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Handy Haversack:

Oh, man, I saw Blake Babies around 1991. Good show!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:58pm OnTheTrain:

A good WOT is to search around youtube for Dinosaur jr covers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Joe McG:

Great to hear the Police on WFMU!
Avatar 2:05pm Joe B:

jersey city connection on this track
  2:05pm Martin from Montréal:

How Sting perfected his French since ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

@John from Florham park: That's exactly who owns our classic rock station, which as actually fairly cool when I was a teen, Entercomm. They also own Portland's so-called 'Alternative Rock' station, KNRK.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:06pm OnTheTrain:

Joe B, whats the JC Connection ?
Avatar 2:09pm Joe B:

the horn section are from here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hey Belockers. Loooooonnnggg time since I've heard this. WPLJ played this quite a bit( very early 70s).
Swag For Life Member 2:13pm tadpoles:

Edgar Broughton Band have some excellent albums...very under-rated...on the English Harvest label. Thanks for playing them Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Woo:

Oh WBCN. in 1976 my good time buddies and I drove to Boston to see Patti Smith, to find out it was sold out, but WBCN broadcast the show live, and I still have the cassette I made of that.
  2:21pm Tomophobic Tom from Detroit:

Can’t get enuf nasty
Avatar 2:21pm Joe B:

thanks tadpoles, will have to dig deeper into them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Spankyflop:

Neil Innes did a live set on Scott Williams' show a while back. 2001 maybe?
  2:24pm KP in DC:

I received a handwritten “Cheese and Onions” lyric sheet from from “Ron” maybe two weeks before he died.
Avatar 2:25pm Joe B:

yes, 2001. he did two songs, promoting shows he did with yo la tengo!
Avatar 2:25pm Joe B:

wow KP very cool!
Avatar 2:25pm Joe B:

me neither tom
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm The Oscar:

Been working/lurking, but the Rutles' Archaeology album doesn't get enough love-- some of my favorite Innes tunes on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Mike Sin:

Innes always kept the Rutles' concept pretty clever. The only low point was that follow-up movie that Eric Idle put together.
  2:30pm Bluesman:

@Mike Sin I refused to watch that follow-up. I did, however, purchase the Shabby Road Box Set. Sounds great in 98.6 surround sound!
Avatar 2:32pm northguineahills:

Joe, what was the club in Orlando you did that live remote broadcast about 1.5 years ago?
Avatar 2:34pm Joe B:

will's pub
Avatar 2:38pm northguineahills:

thanks, joe! (In Orlando right now).
  2:49pm John from Florham park:

@NGH howdy did you get the job
&Rich I thought iHeartRadio was bad, entercom is just as bad
Avatar 👻 2:50pm David Shortell:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm listener 126464:

I'll be there! Thanks Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Michael 98145:

Thanks again, Joe B
Avatar 👻 2:58pm David Shortell:

@Mike Sin
What follow-up movie? There was a sequel to "All You Need Is Cash"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Handy Haversack:

Shoot, end sneaked up on me. Thanks, Joe!
