Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

i crave Ethiopian food now, but my lunch date is at a pizzaria.
Avatar 2:06pm
Ursula1000:

I'm about to make a Spanish tortilla---will save u a slice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah, I too am now craving Ethiopian, which as I said on the previous playlist, I have very little experience with. I do have dolmades, falafel, tabouli, and hummus waiting for me though.
Avatar 2:08pm
Mr Fab:

I'm having a sriracha burrito now. Spicy, whre's the kleenex?!
Avatar 2:09pm
Otis Fodder:

Love Ethiopian, we have a great spot here, Le Nil Blue. Ah, the flavors!
Avatar 2:13pm
Ursula1000:

that's a cuisine missing here in Brooklyn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm

Groovy show, Ursula1000!
Avatar 2:18pm
Ursula1000:

Cheers Rich!

Otis Fodder:

I had some good Ethopian in Manhattan a few years back, can't recall the name but it was heaven sent. Round about Midtown.
Avatar 2:20pm
Ursula1000:

ooh I'll have to search that out. DC has lots of good spots.
Avatar 2:20pm
Otis Fodder:

Found it online, Queen of Sheba - www.shebanyc.com
Avatar 2:21pm
Ursula1000:

Got it! Going!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm
Rich in Washington:

Portland has something like 3 Ethiopian restaurants. The town has a rather large, close-knit Ethiopian community.
Avatar 2:22pm
Otis Fodder:

Wish I could join. Food and music are equal here... food often more in my life!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
Rich in Washington:

yeah! One of PDX's restaurants is also called Queen of Sheba. It's like Indian restaurants calling themselves Namaste, apparently.
Avatar 2:23pm
Otis Fodder:

Ha, love that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm
Rich in Washington:

My YouTube feed is slowly being taken up by cooking videos, Indian, French, etc.
Avatar 2:24pm
Ursula1000:

I try and steer clear of Chinese spots with "golden" or "panda" in the name!
Avatar 2:26pm
Otis Fodder:

There has to be dozens, no hundreds of Golden Panda spots. Go for the buffet. Now I'm thinking of Circus Circus in Reno NV and avoiding that buffet at all costs.
Avatar 2:27pm
Ursula1000:

haha I'd like some extra MSG please
Avatar 2:27pm
Otis Fodder:

However, in the 90s in Reno we had the $1.99 Steak and Eggs Special at the Cal Neva casino. I had that slab of sandpaper once after a night of drinking. Once.
Avatar 2:28pm
Otis Fodder:

The only summer breeze after eating at Golden Panda would be one where you step to the side to megablast out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm
Rich in Washington:

Almost all Chinese restaurants in my town are of the revolting all you can eat buffet style. Lots of deep fried food. They're pretty gross.
Avatar 2:30pm
Ursula1000:

we have good Chinese and tons of Thai here---good stuff!
Avatar 2:31pm
Otis Fodder:

I avoid the buffets. We have a nice Chinatown in Montreal and a couple of spots where it's truly good dining, big round table, wonderful menu dishes. When I see a buffet I'll keep walking these days as a sit down meal is totally comparable in cost.
Avatar 2:31pm
Otis Fodder:

Now I'm dreaming of Pho. Snowing here. Perfect winter bowl.
Avatar 2:32pm
Otis Fodder:

Descriptor of food and music. Sweet!

Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

i can imagine Klaus prrrrrracticing for hours, driving all of his frrrrriends insane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Rich in Washington:

There are so many Pho places in my town. It's pho king ridiculous.
Avatar 2:43pm
Hubig Pie:

Just tuned in for the Alex Chilton song of the day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
Rich in Washington:

I seem to remember seeing a makeup-less Klaus on TV Party and they talked a lot about his expertise in baking.
Avatar 2:45pm
Ursula1000:

yeah that sounds familiar
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
Rich in Washington:

I just think Nomi sounded like a fantastic person. I would like to see that doc about him again. So sad he left this world so early.
Avatar 2:47pm

Avatar 2:49pm

Avatar 2:49pm
Otis Fodder:

Picked up a couple of the PSB Further Listening series over the past few years. 2 CDs with books and all the singles related to each album. Ha, on this release they even make U2 sound good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm
Rich in Washington:

A book, GST?
Avatar 2:50pm
Ursula1000:

i love that U2 cover
Avatar 2:51pm

Avatar 2:54pm
Ursula1000:

so to sum it up---we have Klaus Nomi listening to the Pet Shop Boys while eating Ethiopian food and flipping through a calendar. Good Mad Libs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

@Rich, and yes, it's a book!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm
