Beats mismatched. New mystic moods. The International Style. Pressed and dressed. Queasy listening. New ways to fail. More is more. Backroom room tones.

He-he-helloooo Fred and everyone! This week we have a very special, luxurious guest mix from the beguiling pinkcourtesyphone. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Avatar 3:15am Jesse Dorris:

Well it'll all be waiting for you on the archive, Fred!
Avatar 3:15am Jesse Dorris:

It's a glorious Blixa performance, no?
  3:20am Diezel Tea:

Hey friends and JD. Hope y'all are enjoying the most climate changey winter ever. In personal news, I got fired on Tuesday and then on Thursday was offered a better job in every aspect. Using the time until Feb 1st to finish up this collaborative ep with one of my friends who lives in Siberia now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23am fred:

@Diezel Tea: Wow, awesome news!
Avatar 3:24am Jesse Dorris:

@Diezel Tea what a damn rollercoaster! But congrats!
Avatar 3:52am ben abs:

Morning JD. Congrats Diezel Tea!
  4:09am Diezel Tea:

  4:24am upstate sean:

Everything good
Liking this crazy music
How was your weekend
Avatar 4:31am Jesse Dorris:

I went out Saturday night and woke up Sunday with a fever and a cold that's still knocking me down, unfortunately. Luckily the PCP mix is doing good things to me. How was yours?
  4:32am ben abs:

This mix is goooooood
  4:35am upstate sean:

Jus maintainin. No wild party life :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am David (in London):

Morning Jesse and all Glotals. Hey Ben and Diezel.
  4:40am upstate sean:

Wanted to go to a screening in Hudson, documentary about Merce Cunningham- it was right when the snow came and the roads were pretty bad
  4:40am Diezel Tea:

@666 yeah I got an email that had RSVP in it as text. Was that the only email ya sent over?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am David (in London):

@Diezel, it's one of those immutable facts of life that when one door closes, another one usually swings open...
  4:47am ignatatus666:

@Diezel yes
I wanted to make sure it was going through
  4:49am ignatatus666:

This red lights not long enough
You killed me with that
Enjoy the trip and remember if you get stuck drink milk
  4:59am ben abs:

Morning David, frosty eh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04am David (in London):

Ben, yes indeed. I came out this morning and my car had a thick layer of white glazing all over it. Jack Frost had been out and about during the night. As had a parakeet, who was sitting in the tree making an hilarious racket.
  5:08am Diezel Tea:

@ David in London, I still have yet to get my hands on a cd drive, haha, I'm dying to hear the Doana album. I could just open up bandcamp but for some reason I'm determined to play the disc as intended.
  5:12am Diezel Tea:

I could listen to this drone easily for half a day straight. Great find JD!
Avatar 5:13am Jesse Dorris:

That entire album is absolutely worth a listen, @Diezel Tea, highly recommended!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am David (in London):

@Diezel, bless you sir, I admire and appreciate your commitment to a gift offered. It's been amazing to me to find how many people now no longer have CD playing technology, principally I think because laptops are now no longer being made with native CD players. However, having a physical item still opens doors (in terms of radio play) that a digital only release does not. A strange paradox there. Please do feel free to download it from BandCamp (other music sites are available...) and not feel that you've given in.
  5:25am Listener Bop Monroe:

greetings all from deep dark Tannersville.
this is nice soundtrack for my toast and tea.

i hope CDs will have the staying power of vinyl.
too many little SD cards floating around to keep track of too and no place for liner notes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am David (in London):

@Bop - I absolutely second that emotion. Our album came with a 16-page booklet as I wanted to make a defiant statement in support of artwork and text being able to support and add to the music. Aiming to release an EP on vinyl this year. I fully endorse the digital formats, but nothing beats the real thing. You dig?
Avatar 5:31am Davee:

Well, hello there, how are you doing?
Avatar 5:33am ben abs:

CD's will always survive I think. They will also become a nostalgia item at some point (like cassettes) I like how compact and neat they can be. Although the only place I can currently listen to them is my gf's car, and the current collection is probably 70% wfmu premiums. I love parakeets, So out of place here
Avatar 5:37am ben abs:

here as in London. Not this message board. I feel they'd fit in very well on this board
5:37am PERSONATOR from Highland Park NJ:

I love your show thanks for being awesome
  5:43am Listener Bop Monroe:

absolutely. some tech is timeless.
my brother is now collecting ealy rock n'roll 78s and has 4 crank up units and boy are they LOUD!

JD, besides the music vibes, ilove the giant concrete floppy disks.
would also leave those 3 recliners empty too in case of a strong gust.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am David (in London):

Ben, I'll ask that parakeet if it wants to chip in here when I get home later.
Avatar 5:48am Jesse Dorris:

A parakeet could probably handle my station ID duties quite well.
  5:49am Listener Bop Monroe:

yes but do parakeets dream of wet nuns?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am David (in London):

I'm going to name the one in my tree 'Jesse' in your honour.
Avatar 5:52am Jesse Dorris:

A true honour indeed!
Avatar 5:55am Jesse Dorris:

And with that honor, I'm taking my files and heading home. Thanks for your ears this week, everybody! Until next time!
  5:57am Listener Bop Monroe:

Thank you again for a pleasant wakey wakey, Mr. JD
Avatar 5:59am ben abs:

thanks JD
