Ello Rich! Found this music project I think I just like the name more than anything, "Otis's toaster ghosts" lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
Rich in Washington:

It sounds like one of those gadgets that lets you pick up and amplify electromagnetic stuff around your house. What are those called?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
Rich in Washington:

Soma Ether.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm
Rich in Washington:

A guitar pickup through an amplifier will also do it. Remote controls emit really funny pulsed 'sounds' which you can only hear in the electromagnetic spectrum.
Avatar 4:20pm
BC Sterrett:

Ha ha

very nice shout out there, MB.

Aw. Terry Jones. I knew it was coming but it's still a gut punch. I turned on Clay's show when I woke up this morning and that was the first thing I heard.

Hard to pick a favorite Terry Jones moment. Really, that whole three wise men scene in Life of Brian is priceless, if I had to pick one.

Hey, Rich, how's the Lower Columbia region this afternoon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
Rich in Washington:

I learned of Bowie's passing live on a WFMU show - SUDDEN Bowie tribute for the remainder.
  4:38pm
Martinibomb:

I kinda prefer WFMU for my *social media* if ya know what I mean
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm
Rich in Washington:

Hey, Granny, soggy with a chance of drizzle later today, as usual.
Not that I'm complaining. I'd rather have that than ice and/or snow.
Avatar 4:40pm
Linda Lee:

hey, at least fmu doesn't use trauma as a business model.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm
Rich in Washington:

I used to live what was called the Fruit Valley area. A little basin on the outskirts of Vancouver, WA, and depending on which way the wind was blowing, you'd either get the smells of the Frito Lay plant, like burning Frito chips, or the smell of Camas WA and it's enormous paper mill - a sort of sulphurous cooked cabbage smell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Rich, ahhhh, yes, that paper mill aroma of my youth!

Martinibomb: WFMU is clearly my main social media. It's what i hoped all social media would be like—friendly interactivity with a fantastic soundtrack.
Avatar 4:47pm

Mr Fab, I agree; the Three Wise Men sketch is hysterical. My personal favourite though is an early Python TV sketch, Mrs Ni**erbaiter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm

I really liked Jones' Pepperpot the best, especially the waitress of the Green Midget Cafe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm

  5:02pm
Martinibomb:

Hullo Stanley great to have you here
Avatar 5:10pm
Linda Lee:

i might have an odd take on this, but when my favorite artists pass, it makes very little difference to me. maybe a little, as their output is now definitely finished (though that's often already true), but it's not like i'll be missing them at breakfast. so i tend not to feel it too deeply.
Avatar 5:11pm
Linda Lee:

compared to a personal loss? more like bad weather.
  5:14pm

I think I'm still in shock
  5:14pm

even tho like Rich said earlier we all knew it was coming
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

i must admit, when i hear that a public persona that i admire has gone beyond, my first thought is, "Awwww, why them instead of a dozen famous creeps i wish would get out of here?"

While listening to this set, i have pulled three tarot cards which inform me that we can connect more deeply *and effectively* when we release the grit blocking our free flow…
Avatar 5:52pm
Linda Lee:

grit?
Avatar 5:53pm
Mr Fab:

Devo used to say that they were here to wipe away mental grease and grime.
Avatar 5:54pm
BC Sterrett:

Doing the hustle to this right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

LL: chunks of static or stagnant energies blocking the flow. I sensed it as little particles, like sand or gravel
