Did anyone else have the pleasure of shopping at “Some Records”
Or the displeasure of shopping at “Bleecker Bobs”?
  7:41am Jeff Conklin:

Dylan track reminds me I have to get to the station early and rip that Rolling Thunder gargantuan live box set!
Avatar 7:41am Ignatatus666:

Jeff C: yes, sir, soon.
Buddha of Suburbia, good morning.
Ignatatus: I managed to find some gems at Bleecker Bob's, for less than a million dollars, and Bob was always nice to me, actually. Some Records sounds familiar. Where was that?
Swag For Life Member 7:42am Manana:

Dead Horse Point, Utah? Been there. Small world. Thanks, Mr DJ.
  7:43am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hey Aaron!! How's Spamoni? Didn't have surgery recently?

Good evening Jeff Conklin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44am Jeffrey Davison:

hey there Diezel Tea, Manana (thx for geographic tip...didn't know where it was), TDK60
  7:45am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hello Ignatus666, thank u!! Hi Jeffrey!
  7:46am Jeff Conklin:

I went to Bleecker Bob a few times in the early 00s, it was depressingly expensive and depleted at that point.
Avatar 7:47am Ignatatus666:

Jeffrey itvwas run by a dude popular with the Sunday CBGB kids
Duane was famous amongst the NYHC scene as Bob was super nasty
I’ll get the address in a moment. That’s a long time ago
Generation records was good with prices.
Avatar 7:49am spamoni:

Hi Buddha, sleeping in is my new norm!! I posted the whole procedure earlier, not good, oh well how are you my medical angel?
  7:50am Jeff Conklin:

I believe Generation is still going.

The one shop who’s closing I really lament was Kim’s. Spent a lot of Friday nights there as a young one ogling the psych and prog records and CDs. Quite an education.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am Nulsh:

Hey Boodz. I am well thanks. Et vous?
Avatar 7:51am TDK60:

I walked by Generation Rec. the other day, on Thompson St.
  7:55am Buddha of Suburbia:

Spamoni I just read your post. I am sorry to hear that. I am a medical angel? Awww. Aren't u sweet! Just like to keep u in my prayers. You will make it to your son's wedding!! You got this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am Gavin in Bristol:

Morning all from dreary Bournemouth. Looks like i've missed most of the show :(
Avatar 7:59am Ignatatus666:

Kim’s is definitely historic
I’ll have to do my homework on Some Records
Funny the information I see now is it became a Record label run by well know musicians from the NYHC scene including Walter Schreifels who played in the Gorilla Biscuits,Warzone and Yoith of today and Craig ahead from those bands as well as Sick of it all and The Godfather’s on NYC straight edge “Straight Ahead”
  8:01am Buddha of Suburbia:

Nulsh after all this time you use the vouvoyer term? Please...call me Toi. We're buddies after all! Et Toi? I was in a car accident recently. So i am driving a rental car that doesn't have a functioning radio. It's a challenge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03am Handy Haversack:

Morning, all. Apparently we're up!
  8:04am Chris Wardell:

Jeffery, nice to hear my Michigan native friend Anne Erlewine. Have you checked out her sister, May Erlewine? She’s great.

@Spamoni, sorry to hear about everything. I’m not caught up, but what are you going through? Thoughts and positive vibes to you.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am Jeffrey Davison:

Generation is still there. Hit and miss, I find. Kim's was a great store, great selection, but kinda expensive. Was Some Records the place on 5th Street, now Stranded?
  8:16am John from Florham park:

@Handy still in bed

hi john from f.p., boodz, spamoni, andrew, jeffrey and other planet inhabitants.

i was out of radio earshot all week and listened to wfuv. the music was actually enjoyable but some of the deejays are as engaging as blancmange. corny o'connel must have something on station management to still be there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am Gavin in Bristol:

Hello Jeff.
  8:23am John from Florham park:

@Dale don’t really listen too WFUV anymore, but they are a lot better then commercial rock radio
  8:24am Chris Wardell:

Sorry, Spamoni.
  8:25am Marley Dogg:

Morning everyone
  8:25am John from Florham park:

@TDK60 tried to respond last nights to you but with the chat in and out was a little frustrating
  8:26am Buddha of Suburbia:

I thought you knew Nulsh? It was a shit show. The girl was speeding. She showed up like a bat of hell out of a blind spot and rammed the side of my passenger. But because i had the stop sign all the charges were on me. Thankfully I had plans in the city soon after and had a great time. i needed it.
Avatar 8:26am Ignatatus666:

Avatar 8:33am dale:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am Handy Haversack:

@TDK60, a good friend is from Edinburgh. We'll meet at his place. Plan is board games in the afternoon; haggis (and veg. haggis), neeps, tatties, whisky, poetry, and music at night.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am Buddha of Suburbia:

I am back. Yeah, nothing to see here, guys. Got into an accident. First timer. For a while I was replaying the experience in my head. I have to drive a Nissan Versa for the moment. They said they're thinking Friday my car will be all fixed. I had plans for a Wake n Bake ACCU meet up way before the accident and was going to cancel, but decided to keep my plans. Glad I did. It was really great to see everyone. Definitely raised my spirits!
Avatar 8:39am TDK60:

..That sounds fun Handy H. Never been to a Burns night. Am of Scots heritage, partially. Today, headed for the legendary Bitter End for an open mike.
