Heathens from Murgatroid, I can't believe it's not Belgian Popcorn! ...or is it? We're here to burn your toast and blacken your coffee with an hour of goodies from the late 50s & early 60s at 45rpm. Tittyshakers, exotica, latin, r&b, swing noir, pop-vocals, orchestral jazz, novelty, soul, post-bop, rockabilly, instrumental grooves, haunted hits and the indefinable, (un)usually pitched down for your listening puzzlement.

Psychologically preparing myself for your show by smearing cream cheese on a heated roll.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm ARB:

Hi Franco! That will go well with the minestrone I'm serving up in a bit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Rich in Washington:

Whoa! A show!

Hi Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Rich in Washington:

Hello!
I'll be listening on my morning stroll.
Avatar 1:02pm Franco Twinkie:

Doing some deep research on tacos and mole I hope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm ARB:

Avatar 1:06pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm ARB:

Hello coelcanth0!
Avatar 1:09pm Mr Fab:

And a hearty ungawa to you all! As another week of programming begins...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm ARB:

Bueno Mr Fab!
Avatar 1:14pm coelacanth∅:

Franco i wish. i'm helping to prepare a house for sale and was informed last night that the painting will go to some "painters" so to leave me free to do other things. a fear much of this "other things" will be researching values and posting things on ebay; which i'm not bad at, but i don't want to sit at a computer all day.
...i think i'd rather be doing what you're doing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Otis:

A wonderful Wag Anu to all of you! Tuned in and turned out.
Avatar 1:17pm Martinibomb:

hello D.J. A.R.B. Mistah Fab, Otis, Franco, ∅, and Rich.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm ARB:

Mingalaba Otis and Martinibomb!
Avatar 1:21pm Mr Fab:

Aah, yes "Shish kebab." I knew that "Harem Dance" tune sounded similar. Well-spotted.
Avatar 1:21pm Franco Twinkie:

No you don't! I'm taking my mom to the doctor which has the potential to go completely haywire.
Avatar 1:24pm coelacanth∅:

oh, haha i thought you were just researching tacos and mole all day!
well good luck then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Rich in Washington:

I was just talking about mole from our favorite taco joint with my coworker while out on my stroll! That and the perfect Cuban sandwich.
Avatar 1:28pm Franco Twinkie:

Tomorrow I'll be able to put my detective hat back on, but today...oy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm ARB:

Speaking of Cuban sandwiches, I've still never been to the Cafe Havana which is right down the street from me here, maybe I should head over after this. I hear the Cuban revolution was plotted there.
Avatar 1:36pm coelacanth∅:

i might have to do some research today then, in your stead. (i'm not working 'till later)
...do you remember what dish i was supposed to ask about at my local better mexican place? something that's served around the holidays...5 letters, 2 syllables, not necessarily meat-based...
(it's not a game i really want to ask about it and i've forgotten!)
Avatar 1:38pm worldsworstrecords:

cha-cha-boom!
Avatar 1:40pm Franco Twinkie:

Coel, why don't you ask for a cha-cha boom and see what happens?
Avatar 1:41pm coelacanth∅:

okay but someone needs to record that for youboob
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm ARB:

Hi Darryl!
Avatar 1:47pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay, soup and sandwich! A lunchtime mambo.
Avatar 1:48pm coelacanth∅:

i now remember it was mentioned heavily on these comments boards around the day of the dead - not xmas.
...i guess i'll just spend an hour looking at playlist pages from that time period.
Avatar 1:50pm worldsworstrecords:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm WR:

Archive listening. Playlist looks very interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm WR:

Se......condary pleasures!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm WR:

The lyricist had lots of fun on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm WR:

Curious if that tune with Sun Ra Arkestra was released by Sun Ra or on a "commercial" label?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm WR:

In your mic break after Gypsy Love you sound very relaxed. Possibly an affect of being in Mexico. Great selections in this show, interestingly diverse and great flow and several totally not PC and I think we are OK with that, even minestrone mambo mambo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm WR:

Random closing thought, several songs on your show today seem to me perfect for James Booker to cover. James once asked me for feedback/ suggestions for songs and I had nothing to tell him. Unfortunately he passed 37 years ago so will only hear him performing them in my dreams. Oh yes, thanks so much for the show.
