MONEYBAG$:

t'would be awesome if people didn't have to shoehorn political references into a music chat. really it would
  9:21pm
Arf:

Wow, what's with the hate towards my comment haha? I actually haven't watched any of the trial but have just been reading news headlines to be aware of what's going on. It's important for all of us, especially for those of us that lean towards the progressive end of the spectrum as a lot of WFMU listeners do (I mean just look at the history of WFMU!). And Jesse has written a lot about the '60s/'70s counterculture. If you don't like my comments, just ignore them.
  9:21pm
John from Florham park:

@MONEYBAG$ trying my best to do that, don’t want to see this chat get shut down because of political food fights

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm
Mr. Pumpy:

I have to say, I just re-read the thread (twice), and I don't think Arf was sticking any rhetoric into the moment. To me it seems Arf was simply stating The Frow Show is a nice reprieve from what is being blasted out on almost every major media outlet. Just my two cents. I'd like to see less of a hair-trigger about seemingly benign posts. However, I realize I can't always have what I want. Peace and love EVERYONE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm
mariano:

Hey, fwiw, Arf, I didn't see anything particularly off about your posts. JJ, I think the middle word is supposed to be "bichette" maybe, if that's what you were talking about, in which case the title would be "The Wolf, the Doe, and the Knight (a Shower Song)"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm
Mr. Pumpy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm

that attempt at pronouncing french was so cute ! :D :)))

the translation for that Lavilliers song is : The wolf, the Raindeer and the Knight (A Sweet song)
you guys might have had trouble finding the precise translation because of some typos . It should be : Le loup, la biche et le chevalier (Une chanson douce)

Any musicians here hear a jam come on this station and for a few moments think someone jacked your audio files and stole a recording of you and your mates bugging out in the studio? The first 30 seconds of this tune did that to me. It happens a lot on this station!

@Aitch...after many years of making music...I believe I aspire to obscurity! No joke...I do it because I love it. Made a few albums...worked hard with a friend I love. RIP indeed. Pepper Keenan has a bar/music venue here in New Orleans, bet there's gonna be one hell of a sendoff. Wouldn't be at all surprised if eyehategod and Goatwhore and others do a fitting tribute show at the venue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
Mr. Pumpy:

I was glad to see him back with them a few years ago. Caught a killer show upstate NY. It was a stop on a bonkers three shows in three days tour I did wherein that one was sandwiched in the middle. I overextended myself, but it was worth it. I must have thought I was twenty years old or something. Friday night, Sun Kil Moon in NYC with driving up to my place in the Catskills afterwards. Saturday night Clutch/COC at the Upstate Concert Hall (dump!) in Clifton Park, NY. Sunday night Project/Object (Zappa cover band) in Red Bank, NJ. I was feeling my age halfway through that run. Anyhow...Love ya, Reed!

mariano...indeed. Exhorder may have to explode all over that as well. Funny thing about Goatwhore...I'm not the biggest fan. I dig Soilent Green a bit more, but Falgoust is an awesome vocalist regardless. My former landlord used to use my internet and I had made the password Goatwhore666 because it wouldn't be something someone could guess and I just thought it was funny. Her 70 year old, straight laced, conservative mom came over one day and wanted to connect to the internet...so she laid the password on her. Ha! My landlord also got a kick out of it...and her mom, she is good like that. She still loves me, I think, and doesn't think I have bloodlettings at my house on Tuesday nights!

Mr. Pumpy:

You definitely need a motorcade of those...mellotrons and pedal steels abound!

@ coelacanthø -- thanks for posting the article!
always loved the sound of pedal steel -- i know i have seen other musicians with pedal steel guitar, but The Last Round-Up at Maxwell's (waaay back in the 80s) comes to mind :)
and yeah, complicated -- i mean, i never really liked R. Kelly in the first place but i LOVED "I Wish" -- what a tearjerker!
and film too -- Woody Allen, Roman Polanski . . .
. . . and OF COURSE as i am typing this, comes the realization that there are countless unsavory characters in the arts/entertainment world :(
