Hiya, Becky. Psyched to catch some of the show live. I always listen at some point during the week but rarely catch it on time. Big fan of what you play!

Evening, all.

A pretty large tree fell on my head when I was about 15 and I somehow came out of it unscathed, save a small bump on my head.

@distimpf wow!!!

well it's kinda hard to explain on text, but I was in a flap tent and I was somewhat saved by a couple of metal bed bunks.

I picked up a tiki on the beach in Hawaii. Soon after, I wrenched my back and a picture frame fell, just missing me and then there was a big spider crawling on my suitcase. When I put the tiki back, the weird stuff stopped happening.

I am white and I can use chopsticks, speak Japanese, and am not a teacher. Living in Japan, no-one seems to be able to believe it.

NoFool have you ever watched Black in Japan on youtube? really cool interview series/channel

If that kid hadn't asked the adults what I was doing lying on the bottom of the pool back when I was 12 then I never would have discovered WFMU!

Helpful snorkeling tip: finish inhaling BEFORE diving!

Well shucks if this doesn’t remind me of Laura Cantrell.

I was attacked on the subway after my first 20 seconds ever standing in Brooklyn just for making a split second of eye contact with a gentleman. Hi Hoyt-Schermerhorn station!

I met Donny Osmond as a kid and kinna wanted to punch him in the face after...But his sister was there and she needed punchin' too and ya can't hit no girl

Jimmy Osmond put out a great rare album:

I have never met a member of the Osmond family.

choggie:

...my mom slam-kissed Roger Daltry at a record signing in Dallas in 76', she dragged me along, some dude took her pic and she got a copy. Ahhh, memmeries.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42pm
ultradamno:

Jimmy got punched by Alan (I think it was Alan). I saw them as a kid at the Indianapolis State Fair and they performed Kung Fu Fighting with martial arts moves (choreographed by Chuck Norris I would learn years later when I saw him talk about this on a talk show)...mistakes were made, blood on the stage, show over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm
ultradamno:

Indiana State Fair, I should have said.
  8:45pm
choggie:

Oh hey Miss Becky, you need to get you a copy of an LP I used to own called 'Cowboy Murder Ballads' (can't remember the artist). played a cover arrangement of a tune from it called, 'The Duel' a while back...great lp
Avatar 8:46pm
Richie:

I never really thought the Osmonds were known for their ability to throw punches.

PigeonsAndRust:

Janis Joplin once said "Why is half the world cryin' when the other half is cryin' too, man?" I often think of that, especially when I listen to country music about heartbreak
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
ultradamno:

Is this the murder ballads album you're talking about? It's closest I could find in a pinch www.amazon.com...
  8:50pm
choggie:

P&R, can't lame the smack, Janis had a heart for the world she couldn't control and no one to love..
  8:52pm
choggie:

It was titled, 'Cowboy Murder Ballads' and the band had a catchy name of the leader and his so-and-sos
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
PigeonsAndRust:

Unrequited love but for the whole world...never thought of it so concisely
  8:54pm
choggie:

hey pigeons and rust, I have a second generation Janis story, my dad went to high school with her, she asked him to accompany her he was guitar player for the talent show he dissed her like everyone else in school did because she was different, My dad was one of the reasons why she left Port Arthur
  8:55pm
choggie:

he was too cool for her
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
PigeonsAndRust:

But yet if she took him up, you probably wouldn't be here choggie...what an interesting world we have
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
PigeonsAndRust:

* he took her,
  8:56pm
choggie:

I always bust his balls about it still when he wants to mention that he went to school with Janis Joplin in mixed company at holidays....
  8:57pm
John from Florham park:

@Choggie sounds like your dad was a jerk
  8:57pm
The Butterman:

One of my 7 banjo songs is a murder ballad, pretty Polly. Ironically
  8:58pm
choggie:

I like to imagine that virtual Dimension like this: he hooks up with her becomes one of the founding members of big brother and the holding company, and then I'm born to Janice and my dad somewhere on the road....fill in the blanks, rehab centers...
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:59pm
PigeonsAndRust:

I never met my father as he died before I was born. I wonder if having a jerk father would be better than none at all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm

HAH! He's still a piece-a-werk kinna of jerk! He feels bad now though, I made him feel bad about Janice till he's exhausted!
  9:01pm
choggie:

He's still a kinna jerk, but he feels bad about Janice now
