Good morning everyone,my name is David and Spamoni aka Dean is my father. I had to log on as I knew how much this meant to him. He is still with us but sadly these are his last few days and he can't really talk or comprehend things. But I just wanted to say how thankful I am for all of you for providing my dad happiness on the weekends he looked forward so much to these chats.

If anyone has anything to pass along or wants to reach out feel free to email me at francheezy19@yahoo.com i don't know if I'll be on next weekend but again thank you all so much for the time you spent with him. He loved music so much so it's hard to pick a favorite but I'd say the doors Crosby stills and Nash and Bob Dylan are all his favorite bands. His favorite song (must have been for how many times I have heard) it is Marrakesh Express.

Jeffrey Davison:

welcome John from Florham Park, LiXiviated Life, Ignatatus666, Gavin in Briston and a special welcome to David...thank you David for checking in and giving us the latest on your dad. Dean has been a welcome part of the WFMU community, and I'm always amazed at the connections that are made through this radio station. We do gather emotional connections to one another, though in many cases we scarcely know one another except through our few weekly comments. Nonetheless, Dean's struggle has meant something to us all. It sure seemed from the beginning that he had no shortage of courage in dealing with his illness. My fondest good wishes and love to Dean, and thanks to the wonderful listeners of FMU for just being there.

Hello all, now at a screen after listening in during a dog-walk. So sorry to hear the news from David about Spamoni. I'm not often a commenter - I often get this on catch-up - but usually read the comments and Dean's character and courage have come over so strongly this last however long. Truly a lesson to all of us, but perhaps more importantly, simply a pleasure to encounter. I wish him every ounce of pleasure he can squeeze from the time he has, my heart's with him and you, David, and all his family. And to all of you fellow listeners, a lovely ad hoc community.

Jeffrey, as ever, lovely sets. I always enjoy the subtle theming you tend to give them, it makes for a nice shape to the show. No doubt this set is well organised already but I'm thinking a little Myriam Gendron would fit in well. It's about time she gave us something new...

Just jumping in here to thank you, Jeffrey, WFMU folx one and all, for keeping us updated and connected re: Spamoni. This is a very special online community, and such caring communications are what keep me coming back.
David, if you or other family members see this, know that your father, Dean, has a lot of folx who have enjoyed engaging in chats about music and freeform thoughts with him. Count me as one. I am very sad to hear we wont see his presence here again. Peace.
