I wonder if we will ever see the long promised box set "From Bacon Fat To Judgement Day" It was to include all unreleased tracks from Levon and The Hawks between leaving Ronnie Hawkins and joining Bob Dylan. Garth Hudson has been the driving force behind it for 15 years, but it seems to be being held up by Robbie Robertson. Maybe when "Once Were Brothers" is released he will let it go ahead.

...was just thinking today how @ one time drums were not allowed in the Grand Ole Opry
...there's always been this other culture or movement that refused to let Corporate forces dictate how owns the U.S. American legacy...
LBJ signing the Civil Rights Bill in 1964 of course lost the South to Conservatives - & I think the divide continues today in the Musics... Dylan w/ the Band were so defiant of audience expectation : that's so very Punk - altho' Dylan often been regarded as the beginning of taking Rawk 'seriously' - the opposite of 'Punk' or Roots Rawk. In fact - he wanted to be Little Richard before he wanted to be Woody Guthrie... & then The Band formed in Isolation...
