Martinibomb:

hi Chresti!

Mr Fab:

Apparently I jumped the gun on marathon. You don’t have to mention it til next week. So let’s just dig the Now Sounds of Today, today.

Rebecca Lewis:

I'm very sorry I had trouble logging in to create one long show and now it's two late. Could you please do two playlists? One for each show. I'm putting this here so you'll see it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Rebecca Lewis:

Darn, I meant too late.
  12:06pm
Martinibomb:

Thanks Rebecca.. I was keeping an eye for a second show but maybe it wouldn't let you do it since I had already started this one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Have a good show, MB I'm going out now for a meeting :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Rebecca Lewis:

I will have John D change the title of the first one and the 2nd one will be fine as it was already scheduled. But there will be two files in your show's name one for each show. I'm sorry, I'm often out in the mornings and can't see mail then.
  12:10pm
Martinibomb:

@Rebecca thanks for everything. Not your fault or mine. I am in no way worried about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Sem:

OK. Here's where it's at.
Glad to have found the show, now listening along avidly.
  12:28pm
Martinibomb:

Hi Sem! Yes sorry emergency fill-in and you can see from above Rebecca tried to get it all working.. but not enough time.
Avatar 12:29pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Is there deliberately no event for this playlist happening? If one were added, we could make this the live playlist instead of the system pointing to that Lost Media Archive playlist.
  12:31pm
Martinibomb:

@Kenzo I am not sure.. the story I had one set up to fill in for Sounds Spectacular but then Lost Media needed a fill-in this morning I emailed rebecca but she said she had some problems I'd ask her about it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
chresti:

Kenzo to the rescue! I got here via Jan's link from his show
Avatar 12:51pm
Mr Fab:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
chresti:

A similar thing happened last week on Bodega Pop
  1:03pm
Martinibomb:

^it seems to get harder/complicated the closer it is to the emergency fill-in

@Franco yeh covering for Lost Media & Ursula 1000 today
Avatar 1:10pm
Mr Fab:

Oh YEAH, I just know this from a video. Did they actually release this?
Avatar 1:10pm
Domenic:

: Pirate Song: Is this a mash up? I hope!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Franco Twinkie:

Tumblewash was great! I was sitting in a dingy restaurant in Kathmandu and this commercial came on the TV where a woman in a sari was caressing a washing machine in a storm of sparkles. One of the perks of international travel - weird TV commercials.
  1:11pm
Martinibomb:

@Dom it's actually a live thing they did
  1:12pm
Martinibomb:

@Franco Daphne Oram is my hero I totally worship her
Avatar 1:13pm
Mr Fab:

This is quite the bittersweet symphony yer playing here..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
melinda:

hehe
Avatar 1:13pm
Domenic:

Fun! And this The Andrew Oldham Orchestra is lovely. The bells.
  1:14pm
Martinibomb:

@Dom yeh that .. whats the name of that band had a huge hit with samples from this track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Guido from Cologne:

Was it a band or a record label?
Avatar 1:16pm
Mr Fab:

the Verve
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
Guido from Cologne:

The Verve!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm
Webhamster Henry:

I hope this is a big Nordine set.
  1:19pm
Martinibomb:

@Web nooooo.. I only pulled out this record ... I could grab more for you?? any suggestions happy to play em
Avatar 1:20pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, a beatnik vibe would be cool for a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
Webhamster Henry:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Webhamster Henry:

Tomorrow is a king-sized drag.
  1:21pm
Martinibomb:

Avatar 1:21pm
Mr Fab:

MB, did you mention (or know) that Ray Cathode feat. George Martin? Was that why you played Sir George later?
  1:22pm
Martinibomb:

@fab i did not mention it but yes that's exactly why
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
Webhamster Henry:

Emil Richards memorial bongo set after this. #illshutupnow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
chresti:

Emil Richards memorial bongos , ask and ye shall receive
Avatar 1:27pm
Mr Fab:

Ooh yeah, Emil Richards. Good suggestion Henry.

That "Vous" was a Turtles cover, "You Showed me." Real nice version there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
chresti:

Nice that you're on when I can listen live @Martinibomb
  1:28pm
Martinibomb:

Thanks Chresti! I like your paintings/art
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm
Webhamster Henry:

This whole stream is like a record party.
Avatar 1:34pm
Mr Fab:

Thats cool, Henry! Glad we got a party vibe, that's what I was shootin for. Considering the serious crate-diggin it takes to program this, it could have turned into a real nerd-fest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm
chresti:

Thanks!
  1:38pm
Martinibomb:

Our own Darryl Bullock on Vox & Bass
Avatar 1:39pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, Darryl Bullock from Worlds Worst Records! he was in this band late '80/early '90s and posted a video for this on the Sheena Facebook page. "Darryl is...a punk rocker.."
Avatar 1:40pm
Mr Fab:

Did they do any Barnes and Barnes covers is the obvious question..
  1:40pm
Martinibomb:

This song is actually really bad ass. The lyrics everything are great. I totally want a better copy
  1:40pm
Martinibomb:

@fab my first thought .. was Darryl in barnes and barnes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm
Guido from Cologne:

possibly Moodfogs best known piece ... recently got me the album.
  1:48pm
Martinibomb:

@Guido maybe the best *Jazz* song in my opinion.. I really love that track
  1:48pm
Martinibomb:

That and Lennie Tristano's Turkish Mambo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Guido from Cologne:

actually I file my Moopndog records under "contemporary chamber"
  1:51pm
Martinibomb:

Interesting that you would file it under contemporary
  1:52pm
Martinibomb:

I tend to think of contemporary as anything 1978 - present
Avatar 1:54pm
Domenic:

Enjoying the show! All of it.
  1:56pm
Martinibomb:

Thanks Domenic! Gonna wrap it all up now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Guido from Cologne:

ten years of difference in the history of music isn't that much.
I grew up with considering 20th century as contemporary.
my mum never could bear Strawinsky, so it must be contemporary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Sem:

Diggin' these spins, all of them. Thx! and see you some time again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm
chresti:

Thanks MB!
