I saw John in Edinburgh not too long before he died. He was playing electric guitar then, I was sceptical but he was mesmerising.

I always tried to beat him on the board
I also found out that he would already be listening for 1/2 shows before yours and carols. So it was mostly impossible. I also knew when he was real sick because he didn’t make it on the chat several times. People cancer sucks and I think the treatments suck even more. The treatments are not a cure. They are a bill for your insurance companies
