Sorry I missed your hello earlier!
A big hello to you friend!
I was looking very forward to the weekend since Monday evening. This was after my 1st day of trying to be my son’s Kindergarten teacher.
Nothing wrong with my son!
It was the 5 activities per each 20 min, which ran from 9am - 2pm.

@Michael
In Boonton, NJ which while not a “Hot Spot” I have a Walmart just down the hill (less than a quarter mile away) and that is where I saw the great spread of reactions last night when we swung into and grabbed a DVD from the touch screen Red Box on our way to walking to pick up a pizza that we ordered.
Some people were wearing disposable gloves, others were wearing pretty obviously not N95 rated masks. Some older Walmart workers were wearing no obvious protection.
I used hand sanitizer after the touch screen and the kids washed their hand in the new lengthy fashion.

Understandable to be freaked. These are probably some of the weirdest times any of us have gone through since 9/11
And even that was terrifying in a very different way.
This is more of a slow burn that is full of questions. What will happen next? How long will this last? Am I at risk? Am I taking unnecessary risks? Am I putting others at risk?

My big Takeaway is from the schooling perspective.
None of this is normal.
We should not pretend that any of this is normal.
We should definitely not pretend like the students we teach are stupid and unobservant.
One of the big things my fourth grader was worried about was:
what are all of the people who work for closed businesses or who own closed businesses going to do?

We are supposed to assign 45 min to 1 hour of total work.
However, I’ve been assigning about a 30 minutes to 45 minutes of actual work because I know that working from home or doing anything online always takes at least 15 to 20 minutes longer than doing it in a live classroom.
Once again, I’m also keeping in mind how crazy my home life is right now and how I have no idea how crazy their lives likely are because THESE ARE NOT NORMAL TIMES.
