Here's a link to the Arts Covid Big List/ – an extensive list of Relief and Resources For Artists, Freelancers, and Non-Profits: http://artscovid.org/.

Also: BRIC has created a great resource list for artists during the viral crisis:

How the Arts and Culture Sector Can Prepare for the Coronavirus in the United States

As we take heightened precautions to support public health initiatives, including temporarily closing our doors, we want to maintain our unwavering support of the artistic and creative community and ensure that you continue to thrive. To that end, we have compiled a list of shared resources from local and national arts and culture organizations.

These resources offer assistance, such as financial support and opportunities for artists to continue to express their creative potential during these difficult times. They should not be mistaken for public health information distributed by city and state authorities.

In the coming days and weeks, finding ways to support one another will become especially crucial. At BRIC, we reaffirm our commitment to support visual artists, performers, and media makers as we unite Brooklyn through art and creativity, together, to build community and make change. We hope you will find the links below to be of use to you and your creative community as we all navigate the impact of the novel Coronavirus/COVID-19.

We will continue to add new links and resources over the coming weeks. Please check our blog for updates, or follow BRIC on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @bricbrooklyn.

Hello everyone. I have an odd question, but one that WFMU and perhaps this show can help answer. I've been looking for a song. I heard it on a single record, probably was a south American spanish cover of "The Black Superman", I cannot find it on google or any music service I know (unless that changed in recent years, its been a while since i've scoured). Thanks if anyone knows, and stay healthy gang!

Went to the Union Square Farmer’s market today. Everyone was wearing masks. And the same a-hole endlessly blasting Muslim prayers — not music, just prayers — was there today.

Otherwise, normal!

Rice cookers really only handle white rice. I like white rice, but it's not really food — more of a comfort food.

Cooking good (whole) rice well takes practice, but it's worth it.

Yep, New Orleans is musically very much part of the Caribbean. Haitian music has had its influence, the second line drumbeat is very influenced by Cuban music, plus the first ska musicians in Jamaica had New Orleans black radio stations as their first big influence.
