"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

@TDK my thoughts exactly, even riding around the lake by my house the other day i felt a little too close to all the walkers lol. But i guess we cant be overly paranoid too, some fresh air is always good. Plus may as well take advantage of those empty streets

Its a good list. I should add Nizam Hikmet's time regulation institute to it given everyone going mad. It's about a a group of men who ensure that all the clocks are set properly, and its a satire on modernity and measuring time in a western capitalist way, and the dehumanizing nature of that from a early-turkish (late ottoman) author. Its a bit clunky in English, but the lesson is very much still at issue.

I foresee the rise of a new and dangerous facism wherein the strength of the nation continues to erode, where people are willing to die for the death cult that is the economy, and the right as a stop gap realizing that it can have populist social policies and be racist and evil too. Just judging by what folks are saying and doing around the globe. I'm not optimistic. Maybe people will realize the danger we are in and do something about it and things will change. Fingers crossed.

Though I don't think most people would agree with that, I'm pretty on the Hobsbawm train that nation states and nationalism have out lived their use and will crumble into new amalgamation soon, though people still despertly cling to them, not realizing they are articulating discourses that do not work in the current rubric of nations

I am heartened by the spectacle of the already-shrinking Republican Party throwing themselves all-in behind Trump. When he is gone, disgraced, dismissed as a sad mistake, an experiment doomed from day one, that party will have a hell of an uphill battle getting past it. I don’t think there’s been much consideration of how they’re going to reinvent themselves as an entity with anything to sell to the majority of Americans.
