Hello Jason and all

Martinibomb:

Hey Jason
  11:09am
Martinibomb:

Sent you an email about Mic delay/latency earlier this week and how to fix. Was curious if your sys is all working now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am
fred:

Jason, I think you've played that "technical problems please hold sorry" track before. Though now I can't find it in earlier playlists
Avatar 11:11am
Jason Elbogen:

Fred - It's a long-time fave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
fred:

The Chief should cover it
Avatar 11:12am
Jason Elbogen:

Martin/Erik - How did the mike sound? I changed somethings, and plugged right into the router, not wifi...
  11:18am
Martinibomb:

My wife was talking to me and I missed it. Any issues on your end? Like delay etc....
  11:19am
Martinibomb:

Oh wait is that siren from your mic?
  11:19am
Martinibomb:

Ah yeah you still have delay/feedback I know how to fix that
  11:20am
Martinibomb:

No drop outs! So plugging into the router solved that problem
  11:21am
Martinibomb:

The delay is small it sounds like old reverb slapback radio stuff not bad
  11:26am
Martinibomb:

If you've got a moment after your show we could just fix the MIC issue. Should take less than 5min.
  11:38am
mmzm:

i wonder if you have religious recording about pandemics...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am
fred:

Dead air here, is it me?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
fred:

Now I hear music, but I didn't hear anything during the mic break
Avatar 11:45am
Jason Elbogen:

Actually, Fred, you heard my favorite track during the mike break : TECHNICAL PROBLEMS PLEASE HOLD SORRY
Avatar 11:46am
Jason Elbogen:

a classic.
  11:46am
mmzm:

remember he just figure it out last week...
Avatar 11:49am
Jason Elbogen:

mmzm... I think I have some religious recordings about the Rapture that include Pandemics/disease...
  11:52am
mmzm:

Avatar 12:05pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm

Hi Jacob!

repeating, luv yr sho
Avatar 12:16pm
Jason Elbogen:

'Who will feed your kittens when they've picked your bones clean?"
"Don't worry, I will feed them. Feed them death."

(Remembered those lines from Moto twenty years ago)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
fred:

That reminded me of the opening lines of Aesop Rock's Dorks:
Question, if I died in my apartment like a rat in a cage
Would the neighbors smell the corpse before the cat ate my face?
Avatar 12:22pm
Jason Elbogen:

As a person who lived alone with a cat for about 10 years I thought about the song a lot.
Avatar 12:23pm
Jason Elbogen:

(And I started thinking about it again because of all the ambulance-blaring in the past five-six days)

can you hear me?
  12:37pm
mmzm:

i guess it's same to all fmu listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
fred:

I did put WFMU as one of my life insurance beneficiaries before I had heart surgery some years ago
Avatar 12:42pm
Jason Elbogen:

Take care, Fred... You're not going out now, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm
fred:

I go out twice a week for supplies (the lockdown is serious here, and is especially enforced in poor/immigrant neighborhoods like mine)
Avatar 12:54pm
Jason Elbogen:

So, how bad is it in France?
Avatar 12:54pm
Jason Elbogen:

Is your President an idiot about it, too?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
fred:

I don't really know, I guess it's getting pretty bad at hospitals now. Our president has been taking it seriously for a few weeks, but still had local elections a day before ordering the lockdown because he thought elderly voters would be scared and that would benefit his party (which lost heavily anyway)
As for being an idiot, he's not in the same league as yours, but few are
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm
fred:

@Jason: I think Yves Pierre Christophe is probably French, there was a line like "we have the Eiffel tower"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
fred:

He also mentioned a president (I don't think Canada has one) and anti-nuclear activism was a big thing here in the 70s
Avatar 1:10pm
Jason Elbogen:

Ok, I have the actual record somewhere but couldn't remember...
Avatar 1:10pm
Jason Elbogen:

But Discogs says you're right:
www.discogs.com...
Avatar 1:11pm
Jason Elbogen:

Fred, do you have any family to check in on you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm
fred:

I get a call once a week, but I'm also working even more than usual (10+ hour workdays) and in too much contact with bosses. They would definitely notice if I didn't reply within an hour
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
fred:

Also, I don't have a cat
Avatar 1:15pm
Jason Elbogen:

Whew...
Avatar 1:16pm
Jason Elbogen:

Good that you're working more than usual (maybe?)
Avatar 1:18pm
Jason Elbogen:

This (and the other track I played) are off a cool comp you can get on bandcamp name-your-price

isolatednowwaves.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm
fred:

That voice sounds familiar. I think Theoreme is the solo project of a member of SIDA (which is French for AIDS, but also a good band)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
fred:

I checked her bandcamp, and she does have a track called vampire that is exactly as long: theoreme.bandcamp.com...
So I guess she's French
Avatar 1:42pm
Jason Elbogen:

Ya know, because this is what we're all trying to do, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
fred:

Nice touch there with the coughing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
fred:

I hear you about the worries though, a friend was coughing a lot at the last show I went to, but that was more than three weeks ago
Avatar 1:58pm
Julien à Montréal:

Thank you Jason, thank you Jacob, see you in a 1000 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
fred:

Thanks Jason!
