I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by Barbara Streisand’s cover of Grandma’s Hands from her Butterfly album in 1974.

Worth a listen on YouTube. The album is a dollar bin find.

It was fairly miserable here today high 80s and humid. Though other than grabbing my groceries from the porch and taking out the trash, I wasn’t out much.

I walked to the coffee roaster about 3PM and got soaked on the way back. Thus, pajamas.

Hi Coel, too much pants isn't where it's at!
It was 80 & pretty humid here today, I went out for a walk for about an hour, it was nice to get out.

@Matt: Same weather here in Orlando (although I don't get miserable in humid heat until around 98F/37C [I may have lived 16 years in NYC, but I grew in FL])

RIP John Prine.
Oh, what a song he coulda written about social distancing and the whirl of official bumbling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm

Franco I made myself some gluten free pies today. They were much better than I expected. One was peach blueberry and the other strawberry rhubarb. I used Thomas Keller’s cup for cup flour. My apartment was uncomfortable for a bit.

Hesitate to get political here, but "Good riddance to the shits" immediately applied itself in my mind to Modley, the just-gone Acting Navy Secetary. A shit who wears a size-shit suit. May he land mouth-first in a shit pile.

I have begged and begged you to speak Kiwi to me Kris
Avatar 11:01pm

Looking at Sunshine info, learned that Stephen Stills played guitar on it. And Bill did the extended "I know..." repetition as just placeholder for lyrics to come, but was advised by other musicians to leave it that way.

I’m trying to figure out what the innuendo is there Danny but I’m coming up blank

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm

What was that static?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm

Well-adjusted lot you Kiwis
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Little Danny:

There are Americans who'd still take umbrage with being labeled "yankees"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’ve been to New Zealand twice but it still seems like a fictitious place to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm

(but then i've heard germans refer to themselves as krauts!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm

I guess "yanks" is a bit more affectionate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
coelacanth∅:

i can't imagine being offended being called yankee...unless it came from an american!
Avatar 11:12pm

When I was in Texas, "yankee" was distinctly pejorative when aimed at northerners, both sportingly and seriously.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm

That's probably right, coel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm
Little Danny:

Internal context
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I’ve been called a yankee a number of times since I moved here. I take it as a badge of honor so while the inbreds were saying it as a pejorative I just laughed in their faces.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
coelacanth∅:

great version
Avatar 11:14pm
northguineahills:

@LD: That's true down here (even though there's a Yankeetown on the redneck gulf coast). I just take umbrage w/ the term as I don't want to be mistaken w/ a NY Yankees fan....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
