The thing I’ve found about mono in this newfangled age, is that you don’t want to force it to do what it was never meant to do. Out of one single speaker, a great mono mix is sublime. The same out of a stereo pair is still good. But damn, through earbuds, blech!

it's only about 30 bucks for one of those mini damp cheap amplifiers puts out like 40 Watts her Channel screaming little lamps for the price can't connect that to some decent speakers and you got yourself a mini sound system

@choggie: Cost and portability are two different things. I’ve avoided stand-alone Bluetooth speakers for a while, but I scored this small/portable JBL Bluetooth speaker that sounds really nice and I can toss it in my backpack too. At home I have it echoing in a vintage wood storage box and it’s genuinely amazing. Nice sound. Just mono.

for the money Jake, you're better off buying a good pair of Standalone speakers and one of those custom little chip setup amps... replace the speakers in the right place and it beats the hell out of any Bluetooth speaker on the market for way less money

@choggie: I’ve had a many different stereo systems large and small — recently and in the past — and honestly I don’t care. I honestly hate the home audiophile world and happy to be out of dealing with that stuff.

I’m happy listening to things this way now. For $20 on deep clearance discount, this portable JBL speaker is more than enough for me.
