I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

My favorite bird is this one completely white pigeon — but has specs of gray from a pigeon/dove parentage — that has a few feathers on it’s feet and hangs out in Union Square Park. I have even seen it during why excursions to Manhattan during this shut down. Still looks amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm

Hey, Coel, sending music out to a few people, having trouble keeping what goes to who straight. Did you want all the versions of Love's Forever Changes (mono, outtakes). And did I send the Trane Atlantic stuff? This living at home is driving me crazy (to paraphrase Robbie Robertson).
  12:23pm
rw:

Franco, I also REALLY want to take the bike out! I switched out the chainring yesterday (in my living room) to make it easier to pedal because I'm old. Looking forward to testing it out. But I also want to listen to Play Vertigo. Oh! And I did find that copy of R. Wyatt's biography. Looking forward to riding up to SGV at some point (maybe once this pandemic subsides) to say hello and loan you the book!

rw are you in NJ? It was very easily done online. Wherever you are you should do it if you qualify because the federal government is also contributing an additional $600 a week I’ve been told. But you have to be on your state unemployment to get it.

@rw: Dogs sure seem to have a great time these days. Walking a dog is one of the allowed reason to be out here (and at any hour), so they get a lot more walks than usual
  12:33pm
rw:

Live at the Village Vanguard is the best record ever. Maybe I DO have a favorite something!
  12:33pm
JakeGould:

@rw: Are you and your assistant on the books or off the books? Because there is a small business loan program launched in the middle of this that will allow you to get up to a $75,000 loan. But it’s not exactly a loan: If you can prove at least 25% loss in revenue and 75% of the loan goes towards employee salaries, you can default on the loan and never pay it back. This applies for even single proprietorship businesses like being self employed.

The way I understand they did this was instead of just given businesses $75,000, by doing it as pseudo “loan” it is FDIC insured. Meaning if a bank gives you a loan, and you default, the bank still gets money from the federal government due to FDIC. It basically makes banks the bureaucracy but it’s known that if you default it won’t affect your credit rating and nobody cares.
Avatar 12:33pm
Mayuko:

@fred a lot of animals seem to be having a great time. I saw the news of goats all over a city I think in Ireland, and cows relaxing on a beach somewhere.
  12:34pm
JakeGould:

But you have to be an LLC or single proprietorship. You can’t be someone who pays quarterly taxes and then get this.
Avatar 12:35pm
JosephB:

@rw I'm not working. As far as your assistant, he should just apply himself. With state and federal combined, you get about $1000 a week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

  12:37pm
rw:

Thanks Jake, but I don't think I would qualify. My assistant is also an independent contractor so I have no employees. It's a pretty small operation. That's interesting though about defaulting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm
chresti:

@fred, that's how my son and partner are able to venture out in SF, with their dog.
  12:40pm
rw:

Joe, sorry about the lack of work right now. Hopefully you'll be able to pull through. And I think EG has applied (or attempted at least).
Avatar 12:41pm
Mayuko:

Aw! I never seen pied billed grebes, they're so cute!!! Reminds me of coot, like the placement of their legs seem similar.
Avatar 12:41pm
JosephB:

@rw Thanks. I can pull through this, I'm just wondering what things like might look like on the other side. You probably already know, but I should mention that independent contractors DO currently qualify for unemployment because of the crisis. It just might take a while to actual see the money come through because things are such a mess right now.
  12:42pm
JakeGould:

@rw: Well, it’s actually just a small scale version of how the government funds larger things with grants and such if you think about it. I looked it up and it’s called the SBA’s “Paycheck Protection Program”: fortune.com...

Sounds like it’s not a 123 process and bureaucratic, but hey… We all have time nowadays if qualified.
