Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am ultradamno:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am Ken From Hyde Park:

What kind of pyjamas are you jammin', Tom? Duckies and bunnies? Superman? James Brown?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am Aitch:

The scouts or the cookies?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am Handy Haversack:

Are sensible yoga pants made of denim, sheet iron, and laser mounts?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am ultradamno:

Well, they make good crawlspace insulation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am KidCoelco:

LOL! I just glanced at article with regards to the Girl Scout cookies. They've gone online and are donating thousands to NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am Mr. Pumpy:

It does sound great. Groove out or move out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16am Mr. Pumpy:

I don't know...they were pyjamaramies, thy had Yodas and shit on 'em!

Wipes is my new band name...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23am Mr. Pumpy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am ultradamno:

Oh, and Caroliner and Heavenly Ten Stems, come to think of it.
  12:24am ?:

The Wipers track has me set for the night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25am Mr. Pumpy:

This Sonny Vincent is so many things. He doesn't bow to a singular trope. One may think so, but I'd say listen closer.

Many new discoveries in good music today! Kudos to you WFMU!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am TomDash:

Yeah Mr Pumpy - really amazing archival comp of bands...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am chresti:

Pumpy, is Manwich like the Manhandler?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am Mr. Pumpy:

Rory...you better trademark that shite...wipes, or the shortage of, is going to make it popular!
Avatar 12:26am Franco Twinkie:

Hi Tom. I've been thinking about Nothing Means Nothing Anymore by The Ally Cats. Is that to grim?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28am coelacanth∅:

...Thanks Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28am Mr. Pumpy:

chresti...ha! The Mannn-handlah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28am TomDash:

Hey Scott! thanks, and thanks for making sure we can all hear this!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am ultradamno:

Yes, thanks to Scott now, Michele earlier, all the skeletons!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am KidCoelco:

Just added DotDash to my favorites> Keep them coming. Thank you so much for all of this. WFMU has been the most therapeutic listening experience lately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am coelacanth∅:

Tom i think max ernst did at least get onto the reissue of signals calls & marches
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am ultradamno:

Which may be why they were sometimes Manwitch, though I doubt anyone demanded it foodimentaryguy.files.wordpress.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am Rich in Washington:

Which 70s soup touted the tagline 'So thick, you could eat it with a fork - but use a spoon - you'll want to eat every drop'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am TomDash:

Thanks KidCoelco - means a ton! And I'm so glad to share, that's what music is all about!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am ultradamno:

I think that was Campbell's chunky
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am Mr. Pumpy:

Chunky sounds like soup someone already ate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am Rory:

Mr.Pumpy - Maybe I will!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am chresti:

I remember that Rich, cant think of the brand other than Campbells
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am coelacanth∅:

yes that was also chunky soup
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am TomDash:

Hey coel - I'm sure it's been reissued, I just meant I always play the A side of that single when I'm spinning at clubs, etc...how can ya not?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am ultradamno:

Manwich fliers, one of which may have drawings on it from someone who is very much me twitter.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am chresti:

Open wide for Chunky...candy, not soup
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am coelacanth∅:

i just looked an manhandlers was a variation on the chunky soups.
- for men only.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35am ultradamno:

So..steroid chunks?
Avatar 12:35am Franco Twinkie:

I remember the TV commercial for The Man Handler. It had a burly lumber jack expressing pure gusto at the prospect of some Cambells soup after clear cutting a forest all by himself.Truth in advertising.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am KidCoelco:

Is it weird to be craving Campbell's soup and Girl Scout cookies at the same time? lol!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am chresti:

Cool drawings, ultra.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am ultradamno:

Another Manwich flier, the dog drawing is by the girl scout twitter.com...
Avatar 12:37am Franco Twinkie:

Was that The Gift upside down?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am Rich in Washington:

This sounds really horrible, but I am having insane cravings to eat either at an all-you-can-eat Chinese or Indian buffet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am ultradamno:

Thank you, Chresti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am chresti:

I thought Manhandlers was a frozen dinner, jumbo size.
Avatar 12:37am Franco Twinkie:

I heart buffet!
Avatar 12:39am JakeGould:

Woo! Brooklyn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39am TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am chresti:

A lot of guys hate quinoa, right Franco?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am ultradamno:

To be fair, I haven't inquired as to the CFL head's preferred pronouns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am coelacanth∅:

i don't much like quinoa
Avatar 12:53am Franco Twinkie:

No love lost for quinoa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am ultradamno:

I got excited to see ramen at the store yesterday. That's just wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am coelacanth∅:

i think it's the texture...or the lack of it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am chresti:

I LOVE QUINOA, except it get's stuck in my teeth
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am coelacanth∅:

ultra d i can relate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am Rich in Washington:

quinoa reminds me of some amphibious reptile's eggs, but I still don't care for it.
Avatar 12:55am Franco Twinkie:

I might reconsider quinoa if it came with a side of lard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am Rich in Washington:

I tried making cauliflower rice risotto tonight and I am not entirely sure that it was successful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am chresti:

Yeah, me too ultra, ramen is a gift from the gods.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am coelacanth∅:

i used to be with someone who'd stuff a good sweet winter squash with quinoa and chestnuts and herbs and it was amazing. but generally i don't love it.
it's okay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58am coelacanth∅:

haha Rich! (@12.55)
Avatar 12:59am Franco Twinkie:

Rich, A fir effort! making Risotto is like watching paint dry, but more painful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am Rory:

I love quinoa! Mixed with different food it’s delicious. I recently spilled top ramen on my carpet and it turned neon yellow lol!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00am coelacanth∅:

ramen is a serious meal when i make it. the noodles are but one ingredient.

...and in my opinion the most painful part about risotto is eating it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01am Handy Haversack:

OK, pals. Crashing out. See you soon!
Avatar 1:01am Franco Twinkie:

I love Risotto, I just want it to magically appear in front of me.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am TomDash:

Thanks for hanging, Handy...til next time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am ultradamno:

  1:02am JakeGould:

Quinoa is a lie.
Avatar 1:02am Franco Twinkie:

G'nite Handy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am chresti:

Agree @Rory

Goodnight Handy..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03am ultradamno:

Quinoa seems like something Oliver Twist would beg for more of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am Aitch:

Quinoa like chewy dirt. Often used to string out the expensive parts of salads. Just knocked up a chicken curry and a dahl here, must feed offspring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am ultradamno:

...and if that's your situation, exploited orphan, fine. Eat quinoa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am chresti:

It has protein, good for vegetarians, quinoa
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05am Aitch:

I read somewhere that quinoa had become very expensive where it's grown in south america where it's the staple that the locals couldn't afford it anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am coelacanth∅:

more than once someone has said "you just haven't had good risotto"
and at some point presented me with "good risotto".
nope.
... pointless mush. no flavor except whatever nastiness you smother it with...cheese i guess it is.
zero texture.
what a waste of rice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am Aitch:

Risotto italian for who fucked up the rice.
Avatar 1:07am Franco Twinkie:

Okay then, can we kick the shit out of amaranth now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am coelacanth∅:

Aitch i read that once too. sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am Aitch:

Not familiar Franco, I'm sure it's just as annoying though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am chresti:

I've had mushroom risotto that was tasty, but yeah, make the same damn thing with rice and tons of cheese.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am coelacanth∅:

quinoa i do eat occasionally, despite what i say. it is extremely nutritious. not much protein but all the nutrients it has are very easily absorbed, because it's a fruit -not a grain; so it's as easily digested as a fruit.
which also makes it excellent for people with digestive problems or allergies.

...amaranth i don't bother with!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am coelacanth∅:

i used to mix amaranth with my rice, since it kinda sucks on it's own...but then i decided to stop wrecking my delicious rice.
Avatar 1:12am Franco Twinkie:

I had a girlfriend who was a fantastic cook....for other people. She liked all sorts of unsuitable and peculiar things to eat. Amaranth been one that I remember.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17am coelacanth∅:

people prepare it like a breakfast cereal -like wheatena. maybe that's okay.
you can also pop amaranth like popcorn. it's kind of cool -millions of tiny (~1/8") puffs but you can't eat it like popcorn.

Couscous: Dry or Pearled?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am coelacanth∅:

pearled cous cous? that's new to me
  1:19am Jim H:

Made it tonight. Fatter, moister, tastier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20am TomDash:

Did you guys tune into my show last week? I kicked it off with "RICE Is The Only Thing Worth Living For"
Avatar 1:20am Franco Twinkie:

Couscous I like. Infused with bits of lamb, onion and parsley.
  1:20am pp:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21am coelacanth∅:

  1:32am PNW THC:

trippy
  1:35am htj:

Woah looked this up on discogs and noticed Florian Schneider & Ralph Hutter were in Organisation. Def trippy. Produced by Conny Plank.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36am coelacanth∅:

precursor to kraftwerk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36am TomDash:

yeah pre-Kraftwerk psych/drones - I think it was their only LP? Been booted a bunch...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37am coelacanth∅:

no synthesisers at all on this album, right?
  1:38am htj:

correct, no synths
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38am TomDash:

I don't think so coel...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40am Aitch:

Where do we get the long winged feathers?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41am TomDash:

If you have to ask, Aitch, then I don't think you're ready...soon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41am TomDash:

I'll ask for you, though...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42am coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am Aitch:

Circling around the office, flapping feebly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am TomDash:

haha...love it Aitch, keep spinning...you'll find those long winged feathers. Just circle around!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am TomDash:

yeah coel, that's where shotty boots come in handy - some sound ok, some terrible and some...pretty good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am coelacanth∅:

...i just looked to see if maybe that "20X more than what i can pay" has changed any; and yes, it has! -just not in the direction i'd hope for.
$1850.36. slightly out of my budget.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49am TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57am coelacanth∅:

Hello Tom and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10am TomDash:

mornin' fred!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10am Scott Williams:

Got the record in front of me right now, Tom - only info other than what you said is that Asst prod. Dave Fenelon used to be DJ KBC's landlord and welded gates on FMU's windows. This was all waaaaaay before my time here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13am TomDash:

Ha - yeah I knew it was before your time, Scott! Good to know it's in the library too - had no idea. Figured there MIGHT have been some lore around it...but sounds like just some FMU DJ (and welder) connections...I realize now he has an earlier (and way more expensive record) I hope to luck into one day...thanks for chiming in!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14am Scott Williams:

that other record is here, and it's better!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16am TomDash:

no way! Oh man, can't wait to play it sometime soon (fingers crossed)! I've only seen it in one shop on the wall for a c-note or more...
  2:19am htj:

This is why WFMU is so fantastic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20am TomDash:

tell me about it htj...you read my mind!
Avatar 2:20am fred:

I'm sure a lot of DJs can't wait to be able to spend time in the record library.
Ken may have to put draconian rules, like no more than 36 hours straight
  2:22am pascal from lisbon:

good moaning one and all! Just tuned in to The Dawn of Man by Banshee, how about that song! First time listening to Dot Dash, gonna skip to the beginning today, wowzas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22am TomDash:

ha - indeed fred. I miss Studio A dearly, but I miss the library more. Funny, I JUST started digging more past the new bins in recent months...it is intimidating, cause you're prepping a show and checking out the new stuff - but so many god damn treasures in there...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23am Scott Williams:

Crawling Chaos! the band that named Creamo Coyl
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24am TomDash:
