Artist Track Album Comments Images Approx. start time
"Everyone comes in with their own ideas about what healing music can be. It can be anything, really. That’s what I learned from Deep Listening with Pauline Oliveros. Healing sounds can be the sound of water moving in a stream, or the sound of a radiator banging. Your body is always trying to physically and mentally connect with the sounds around you. That’s a very subconscious process."
- C. Lavender in interview with The Creative Independent

The longer piece from which this Negativland single was derived from is on Ubuweb. It was a really amazing commissioned radio piece from the early 90s.

Handy Haversack:

@chresti, my dad was a caretaker in Yosemite in the forties. Lived alone in a cabin for a spring-summer-fall. Every day went and fished for his food for the day. He never tired of telling me about the time he rounded a bend and came face to face with a grizzly. They both stood up to their full heights and ran in opposite directions. That day he did not eat.

@Lavender: Oh! I think you are why I started being friends with William!! He had a woman co-hosting and you were talking about.... social isolation and having internet friends? Something like that? And it was because of that conversation, I emailed him without knowing him, and we started hanging out together. :) Thank you!
