Emilia Amper, Champion of Sweden's Nyckelharpa, Recorded at WOMEX, October 2019
Listen to this show:
Pop-up player!
Meet 2010 World Nyckelharpa Champion Emilia Amper! Okay, maybe you didn't know there's a world championship for Sweden's beloved keyed fiddle. Although perhaps you've heard of the Grammys - Emilia been nominated for one of those as well. She's a great musician and principled as well: Amper is among a growing number of performers who, because of climate concerns, no longer tour by plane. Emilia Amper joins us for a musical meet and greet recorded at the WOMEX world music expo. (Photo of Emelia Amper with nyckelharpa by Olof Grind.)
