Beats mismatched. New mystic moods. The International Style. Pressed and dressed. Queasy listening. New ways to fail. More is more. Backroom room tones.

He-he-helloooooo everyone!
Avatar 3:02am fred:

Hello Jesse and listeners
Avatar 3:02am Jesse Dorris:

Special thanks to Scott for operating the boards so well, on his birthday no less!
Avatar 3:02am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @fred!
Avatar 3:03am Jesse Dorris:

Tonight I'm listening back to the astonishing work of Mike Huckaby, who passed a few days ago. True Detroit house legend! Lots of treats in store....
Avatar 3:06am fred:

Happy birthday Scott!
  3:07am David in London:

Morning Jesse and all Glotals.
Avatar 3:11am Jesse Dorris:

Some deep minimalism to get us in the mood...
Avatar 3:11am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @david how are you?

  3:14am David in London:

Good thanks Jesse, all things considered. How is the Glotalmeister?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17am Ignatatus666:

The sounds tonight have been incredible
@scott I’m tuned in since the end of Radio Ravioli and every show has had excellent sound until now
Now it’s super excellent
@Jesse
Yikes!!!!
Avatar 3:20am Jesse Dorris:

I'm doing ok! Thankful to have internet this week, unlike last time. And to continue to be safe and sound, as I hope you all are!
Avatar 3:41am Jesse Dorris:

This one has such an Arthur Russell feeling to me...
Avatar 3:56am Jesse Dorris:

The *very last* time I went out before the pandemic hit, the DJ played "Been Waiting" and it was just so damn epic.
Avatar 3:57am Jesse Dorris:

Little did we know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am Ignatatus666:

I hope you have been getting some air Sir.
Avatar 4:06am Jesse Dorris:

Air? Never heard of it. I imagine the roads aren't any better yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am Ignatatus666:

By you they are
That was hopeful. Last week during rush hour was the most cars I’ve seen at once in almost 2 months. I was happy. I have been watching closely with the traffic flows on Friday and Saturday evening in Westchester. I think people are getting out but only to parks and Walmart.Walmart is the first place that should have been shut down
Avatar 4:16am fred:

Last dance show I saw was March 3rd. Next one will be at best in September. I think I've never had more than two months without seeing one for 25 years. I don't even want to think about concerts (though small ones might come back earlier)
Avatar 4:18am Jesse Dorris:

Yeah @ignatatus those seem likely destinations.
Avatar 4:18am Jesse Dorris:

@fred I know the feeling. This is easily the longest I've ever been without some nightlife in all my adult life. It's hard to imagine how to return to it, and how to not return to it.
Avatar 4:19am Jesse Dorris:

And first Weatherall goes, and now Huckaby...what the hell is going on.
Avatar 4:26am fred:

And I've never worked more than these days. I just had to stop last week when I realized I was close to hitting the 65 hour mark. More work and no live events isn't a good combination.
At least there's radio. I'd have gone insane weeks ago without WFMU (though maybe I already was, which would explain a lot)
Avatar 4:28am Malcolm:

morning jesse
Avatar 4:28am Malcolm:

and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29am Ignatatus666:

I’ll be better off mentally when the drive ins open up
I don’t mind the drive. I go to Brooklyn every week which is the same distance
Avatar 4:30am Jesse Dorris:

@Fred figuring out what time is work time and what to do with the rest is a real hinge
Avatar 4:31am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @malcolm how's your morning?
Avatar 4:36am Jesse Dorris:

Drive ins should surely make things easier!
Avatar 4:39am Malcolm:

fine thanks, trying to approach things slowly and deliberately today, rather than feeling i should be doing everything at once.
Avatar 4:46am Jesse Dorris:

That seems like a very good approach
  4:58am modern blaze:

woke up n the pack is still here but my head is so delirious but the music helps a ton!
  4:59am modern blaze:

don't question why
  5:00am Toothgrinder Tom:

Insomnia, again.
Avatar 5:00am Jesse Dorris:

happy to help @modern blaze!
Avatar 5:04am Jesse Dorris:

haha not sure this deep Detroit house gem will help with your insomnia @toothgrinder
  5:04am modern blaze:

TT 'm over it thanks to the uprighteous
Avatar 5:12am B/wad:

Morning Jesse and Krew. Tel Aviv sayeth hello.
  5:12am Toothgrinder Tom:

It’s just nice to not feel all alone when you can’t sleep.
Avatar 5:15am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @B hows all in TA?
Avatar 5:15am Jesse Dorris:

Well maybe Bohannon will sooth what ails you!
Avatar 5:16am gurknot:

Morning from sunny Austria!
Avatar 5:18am Jesse Dorris:

Well good morning! And happy birthday @Gurknot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19am Ken From Hyde Park:

Marty McSorley led off with some Bohannon tracks last Saturday.
Avatar 5:19am B/wad:

Hey @gurknot, where in Austria are you?
Avatar 5:19am Jesse Dorris:

Morning @Ken! I heard, it was a great set!
Avatar 5:21am B/wad:

Fuck, this is some righteous shaving cream here
Avatar 5:22am gurknot:

thanks! @Jesse
Avatar 5:23am gurknot:

@B/Wad I've escaped NYC for a few months. I'm near Linz!
Avatar 5:24am B/wad:

@gurknot you've fled my birthplace for my place of origin. What are you doing there?
Avatar 5:25am gurknot:

ha! hanging with family in the country side! I'm from here
Avatar 5:25am Davee:

Good morning
Avatar 5:26am B/wad:

Far out, man. You ever kick in Wien?
Avatar 5:27am Jesse Dorris:

Morning @Davee how goes it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am Ignatatus666:

I love my customers
I just told one that as of April 30 you can no longer enter Shoprite unless you are wearing a scuba mask and a respirator
He sez aww geez where the hell am I gonna get that?
I said in the seasonal aisle
Avatar 5:28am Jesse Dorris:

Haha tis the season
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Matthew_London:

Present and almost correct for the last half hour
Avatar 5:30am gurknot:

@B/wad yes I usually spend a few days there every time I visit and used to live there. It's fun.
  5:31am Toothgrinder Tom:

Funky stuff to greet the new dawn!
Avatar 5:32am B/wad:

Vienna is the most underrated city in Europe: Discuss.
Avatar 5:32am gurknot:

I completely agree!
Avatar 5:32am Jesse Dorris:

Also: Bohannon album covers are the best album covers.
Avatar 5:33am gurknot:

I was about to say I love these covers!
Avatar 5:34am B/wad:

Nice instagram, Gurk :) Love the business card.
Avatar 5:35am Jesse Dorris:

The next one is really something. But they're all...just...so...much
  5:36am Toothgrinder Tom:

I’ve never been to Vienna. It’s odd that Madrid has no symbol like the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben.
Avatar 5:41am wizard frog:

Vienna truly is grand. Went there almost 10 years ago now around Christmas, was so nice I went the following January.
Avatar 5:50am gurknot:

@B/wad thanks! Very nice pottery!
Avatar 5:50am luca:

Vienna is great and truly unique...located at the crossroads of the German, the Latin and the Slavic world...ánd on the main artery of Europe, the Danube.
Avatar 5:51am gurknot:

I think a special Polyglot party in Vienna is on the cards!
Avatar 5:52am Jesse Dorris:

Sounds good to me @gurknot!
Avatar 5:52am Malcolm:

great question bohannon, what is a dream?
  5:53am testingwithfire:

coming in late... thank you @Jesse for the Bohannon set, I was completely unfamiliar with his sound.
Avatar 5:54am Jesse Dorris:

@Malcolm who can even tell anymore?
Avatar 5:54am Jesse Dorris:

Aww thanks @testingwithfire! His hits are bit more footstomping but I really love this softer side, it's very proto-Parade-era Prince
Avatar 5:55am luca:

James Brown about Bohannon: We two are the rhythm people, we have the most different rhythms than anybody’
Avatar 5:56am Jesse Dorris:

Oh wow @luca that's interesting he thought so!
Avatar 5:56am fred:

Thanks Jesse!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am Zetti:

:)
Avatar 5:58am Jesse Dorris:

That's it for me, friends! Thank you for your ears! Until next week....
Avatar 5:58am gurknot:

Thank you!
  6:00am TheoC in Sharon CT:

Thanks!
