Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03am Jim the Poet:

Hey Fred what's up
Avatar 3:04am Jesse Dorris:

There's some gems and strange stuff on the way! And words from Florian himself that I found!?!
Avatar 3:04am Jesse Dorris:

But this is his very first recorded music. 1967. That's him on the flute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am fred:

The first lockdown is over since yesterday here. I still work from home though, and public transit is restricted, so not much of a difference for me. We'll see how this goes

Oh yeah @granny the first hour especially will be great bathing music
Avatar 3:19am Jesse Dorris:

hey @barnaby glad to have your ears!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:20am Ignatatus666:

There were some odd shows overnight on broadcast tv. Led by the Don Kirshner rock concert show. There was also the Kenny Everett video show that had very peculiar acts and skits. The Punk rock tv show was way before its time. And not a poser show.
Avatar 3:21am Jesse Dorris:

This is one of the very few interviews with Florian I've ever heard. From Chicago, 1975. We'll hear a bit from it throughout the show.
Avatar 3:21am Barnaby:

@Jesse: always, though not always commenting, just working :)
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:22am Ignatatus666:

Can anyone else scream I hate the Metro North?!
Last 3 trains all on the wrong trax.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23am Jim the Poet:

Oh yeah Metro North blows
Avatar 3:35am Jesse Dorris:

My last big night out before the world broke, I was at the mercy of Metro North coming back from Beacon. It was...wild. Two months but like 50 years ago, it feels like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54am Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

yes, this has been lovely bathing sounds, and now tucking in sounds to drift away to… thank you!

Avatar 4:04am Jesse Dorris:

haha yes @spacecowboy they are
  4:05am Adam from Zellerink:

remembering meeting Florian at Chris Blackwell's Marlin Hotel in Miami Beach for afterparty when they played the Jackie Gleason Theater. The kindest alien whom ever graced us.
Avatar 4:07am Jesse Dorris:

hey @adam, that's very cool.
Avatar 4:08am Jesse Dorris:

@Ignatatus yes it's lovely up there. I was at a Carl Craig/Moritz von Oswald concert at Dia. Another world.
  4:16am Malcolm:

Hey robot Jesse and listeners!
Avatar 4:18am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @Malcolm how are you?
  4:23am Malcolm:

Pretty good thanks. Florian's voice is deeply calming
Avatar 4:26am Jesse Dorris:

I love the way he says to play electronic music you have "to be...cool...."
4:29am Ajay from Krommenie / NL:

Hey Jesse. What a fantastic show. I work as a production manager at Paradiso in Amsterdam and did 8 x Kraftwerk shows in Paradiso in 2015. An incredible experience and huge honour. It took us 3 days and nights to build up everything for the 8 shows. On one of these nights Ralf came to me and said that Kraftwerk had played in Paradiso in 1976, just after finishing recording Trans-Europe Express at Kling Klang Studio. The band played tracks from the as yet unreleased album at Paradiso and recorded the set. They went back to Düsseldorf to their studio with the recordings, listened back to them, and made adjustments to the mix of Trans-Europe Express. The album that was released were the mixes based on the tweaks they’d made after the Paradiso show
Avatar 4:31am Jesse Dorris:

WHAT! That's amazing. I've heard that that 1976 show there was the first time they played T-E E live!
Avatar 4:31am Jesse Dorris:

I didn't play it because I'm focusing on Florian's songs. But it's a wild version. And what a story, thank you for sharing it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am Guido from Cologne:

The solo in "The Hall of Mirrors" is Karl Bartos'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37am Guido from Cologne:

It is the occasion on which Bartos claimed for future co-writing credits.
Avatar 4:38am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @Guido. I know there's all kinds of future friction with Bartos...but it's a very good solo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Jim the Poet:

Hey Ajay! Thanks for sharing this. Love the entire Whisper Om record. Deutsche Ashram is my favorite band right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39am Aitch:

Primary school teacher played us Kraftwerk in 1975. Been into it ever since, nice show Jesse.
Avatar 4:41am Ajay from Krommenie / NL:

@Jim the Poet.....awwhhhhh thnx man! Really kind of you. (ps...I have a solo album out on 5 June under the name Bhajan Bhoy, which you ,ight also dig).
Avatar 4:42am Jesse Dorris:

Aww thanks @Aitch. Kraftwerk are such a good gateway. And final destination, too.
Avatar 4:42am Jesse Dorris:

Oh hey @Ajay! I got the new album, it sounds great, thanks for sending!
Avatar 4:43am Ajay from Krommenie / NL:

@Jesse....all good Jesse. This show rules!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am Jim the Poet:

Ajay, cool I will check it out for sure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am Aitch:

The first CD i ever heard was Computer World (all DDD) on the original CD Walkman with good headphones. No hiss, amazing.
  4:50am Malcolm:

I wish I had your primary school teacher aitch!
Avatar 4:51am Jesse Dorris:

That is the perfect welcome to the digital age of music @aitch!
Avatar 4:52am Jesse Dorris:

And right on time comes the title track, although in this "special mix" that almost sounds like 2-step
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am chaos_in_la_la:

I mean, it's only 1:52 am here, but this show has just been the best 3am show ever. even after almost two years here, wfmu still just plants me in nyc time..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53am Scott Williams:

@Jim the Poet, I'll vouch for Ajay/Bhajan Bhoy's record, it's fantastic! CD is in the FMU new bin. @Jesse Dorris, this is one indomitable Florian tribute! Thanks for doing it - Florian Endless.
Avatar 4:54am Jesse Dorris:

Aww @chaos_in_la_la that's awfully kind of you to say. Glad you're enjoying it!
Avatar 4:55am Jesse Dorris:

And thanks @Scott! Just wait until the robots hit the rave, in the next hour!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am Aitch:

Despite its digital-ness, I only have Computer World on vinyl. Couldn't afford a CD player until way later
Avatar 4:57am Fox:

Hey hey hellooo everyone! I've been listening, but AFK while rearranging my bedroom. Lovely to listen to this evening, Jesse! Thank you!

Avatar 5:01am craplivion:

Avatar 5:02am Jesse Dorris:

Aww thanks @Aitch
Avatar 5:03am Jesse Dorris:

Avatar 5:03am Jesse Dorris:

Avatar 5:07am craplivion:

its only been 5 years that ive discovered kraftwerk.so this is cool hearing marathon
Avatar 5:08am Jesse Dorris:

@craplivion oh wow, very glad I can be of service then!
Avatar 5:09am craplivion:

and im betting your a fannatic.so its gotta be their best songs
Avatar 5:11am Jesse Dorris:

I'm for sure a fanatic. I'm focusing just on Florian's tracks, so a bunch of the big hits aren't making the cut. But, I mean, there isn't a bad song. Well, maybe towards the end....
Avatar 5:12am craplivion:

their good.i woke up to die robetter, and gotta outa bed
Avatar 5:26am Nulsh:

Avatar 5:52am Davee:

Hi Sam
Avatar 5:53am Bas NL:

Only caught the last hour, but will visit the archives.. Brilliant tribute show Jesse!
Avatar 5:53am Jesse Dorris:

He founded it with Rolf Hutter, and left because he didn't want to do the nostalgia touring act schtick Rolf turned Kraftwerk into...at least that's my take.
Avatar 5:54am Jesse Dorris:

Thanks @Bas! There's some wild early stuff in the previous hours :)
