Way back in 1990s, I was flying back to Atlanta and got to LAX at a crazy early time. There was no one in the terminal departure area when I got there, except for Little Richard. He was all sequins and makeup at 5:30 in the morning. I looked around thinking this was a Twilight Zone episode. I think I said out loud, "Holy crap! Little Richard?". Are you headed to Atlanta he asked. Yes, that is my home I replied. "Another Georgia Peach," he said. I was still just sort of dumbstruck. "What's your favorite Little Richard song?" he asked. "Keep a Knockin'" I replied, like I had been ready for this moment my whole life. And then he sang it. RIP Georgia Peach.

Guess no better time or place to drop my Little Richard experience- I was sound guy on the infamous celebrity interpreter GEICO commercial - i was in awe all day but late into the shoot- take 65 or so, no lie, the 30 year old agency guy starts instructing Richard on his performance - i was that close to smacking that agency fuck as he does the most offensive minstrel act AND AT LITTLE RICHARD- i was actually getting ill, I think I cried at one point-
