She studied the LAPD's and other forces' adoption of technology like Palantir and other predictive, surveillance, and data-harvesting tools, including interviewing cops and civilian LAPD workers, and went on ride-alongs. Scary stuff that all seems Techtonic adjacent. (Due disclosure: I'm proofreading it at the moment.)

Now is a fertile time for folks to be making the connections between racism and exploitation and inequality and complicity of the tech monopolies etcetera.
