Ursula1000:

can u imagine? oh to be a fly on the wall catching those vibes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
StringOFperils:

The spontaneity isn't lost on this Dells session either, despite the complexity of studio stuff going on. Lot of separation and balance, well-recorded parts, analog compression, overdubs, 1 inch tape. OMG
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm
joe:

There is something of an opioid like effect about the package of this music time period, artist and recording/producing technique For me it creates an almost surreal comfort in some ways. Or maybe it's because of the time period of life/youth I first experienced it.
Avatar 1:30pm
Ursula1000:

hi Joe! yep I hear u
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm
solo mon:

String- agree! Feels off the cuff but so focused it’s stunning to hear all the layers and actually hear them too. Mixed so well.
  1:31pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
solo mon:

Uhm the cover to this record I’m deceased.
  1:41pm
Martinibomb:

@U1K it's not a plugin yet no.. but the ezstems is a web version of this machine learning ai system called "spleeter" that is trained to take a stereo track and break it into bass, drum, vox, other... etc...
  1:41pm
Martinibomb:

good for making edits/remixes hint hint
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm
solo mon:

Avatar 1:47pm
Ursula1000:

though I do love the sitar usage in a lot of psychedelic soul he didn't really go there to make it "trippy"
Avatar 1:47pm
Ursula1000:

but a kalimba with a shit load of reverb....YES!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
solo mon:

Speaking of sitar ursula not without mention a certain sitar from stepney that is a backbone to some hip hop??? You know wha I’m talking about I’m sure ;)

my partner moved to the US as a teen in the 1970s, and had never seen TV commercials before. He's still confused about L'Eggs and Eggos and are they connected?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm

I always liked hearing it in my dad's cavernous machine shop with all the reverb - they always left the radio on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
StringOFperils:

This stuff is as good, in a later and different way, as Hal David/Burt Bacharach stuff. It's very uptown.
