?: I didn't mean to suggest that no one is smart enough to own a gun, but the statistics here in the US, in regard to people killed on purpose or by accident, is a sad one indeed. With or without guns, Americans could be way better informed about nearly everything, but seem, by and large, to be incurious about the rest of the world.

Thanks Jennica and Adam West Coaster. And yeah, "just shut up" supports the status quo, which, as always, needs improvement. We can all do better individually and as people in general. And maybe I should post a warning label on this show, like on a pack of cigarettes: Show comes with cranky, opinionated old dude. May be injurious to complacency.

The ease with which citizens can get guns gives police a justification for militarizing.

fyi i do hear the fan, especially when i put my ear up to the iphone, how funny, but its not distracting at all no worries. if anything kind of a lofi effect which fits the music anyway ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am
Jeffrey Davison:

Fredericks: I'm uncomfortable with the militarization of the police, but for sure the situation ratchets up on their side as a result of the types of guns that some people have. Not sure why people feel the need to have that kind of firepower. It seems to have little to do with hunting, sport shooting and even protection.

From the standpoint of the spiritual life, one can safely assume that we have incomplete or incorrect understanding (to put it mildly). This means all of us. For one, I could have greater quality of understanding and compassion. In any instance, I can ask "is this in service of the Good?", or "if I could imagine a better world, would ____ be in it?", (whatever that may be) and go from there.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am

Jeffrey, there was a really good article explaining that kinda' thing. Some were sped up to fit running times!
I don't think the Robert Johnson recordings were sped up, but it did mess with my head for a bit.

What is good or compassionate.. I once heard of this SciFi movie where benevolent aliens observed the Earth for a good while and then eliminated all humans. They viewed cars as a higher form of life. They remained docile until infested by humans. They did crazy moves and shakes until they got rid of their occupiers.. so they rescued the cars from their assailants.
