@D(iL): I do love the Cramps. So I'll back down from my bassless accuation. But I think most "we don't have a bass player" bands would sound better with a bass. Like the time the bass player from Redd Cross added bass parts to the White Stripes ("Red Blood Cells"). Major improvment IMO. But then again I play bass so I'm biased in that direction.

re: "Concerts for the People of Kampuchea" That double LP can still be found for pretty cheap, which is cool because it never saw a CD reissue. I guess considering it had all those artists under different contracts to different labels, the charity agreement only covered the initial run.

I remember that '30s/'40s style revival. You could still find some of those clothes in flea markets then. So, hippies in wide '40s ties, suits, dresses. (Pointers, Dan Hicks, Leon Redbone, Ry Cooder, etc.)

One of the engineers of Waiting for Columbus has a stereo shop four blocks from my home. I brought my Mobile Fidelity pressing to the shop. We listened, and he remarked, "This sounds really good!" Hanging on the wall in his shop, the original painting, subsequently retouched here and there, that graces the album cover.
