"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

@KrysO: Thanks for the movie suggestions, I'm always on the lookout for good ones! I checked and those 3 films are also on the Criterion Collection. "Elevator to the Gallows" has a Miles Davis soundtrack, will definitely check that one out! "Knife in the Water" is by Polanski so I might take a pass on that one.

I used to watch Knife in the Water with my Polish dad when it was shown on PBS in the 70s. He really enjoyed Andrzej Wajda's films. You can always listen to Krzystof Komeda's S/T to Knife. It's great.

Saw Elevator on the big screen many years ago. Never saw the Warped Ones. I DVRd it to enjoy when I have more leisure time.

Avatar 🎸 9:24am
YETI BOB:

@David: I'm pretty good, my sleep schedule is totally messed up: I fell asleep in the afternoon yesterday, then I was up most of night. Chicago is slowly opening up but I don't think people are taking too many risks - I had a few drinks in a beer-garden set up in a parking lot, tables all 10 feet apart. Our beloved lakeshore is still closed. I've got my little container garden on the balcony (flowers, tomatoes, herbs). Baby birds everywhere, I've had to rescue a few from my voracious cats. So I'm finding things to keep me from going completely insane. And I'm lucky to still be employed. But it's a rough time for everyone in the USA right now... nobody knows what's going to happen next, and iwe're all on pins and needles.
@Handy - good morning!

I should know this. It's owned by LIRR but exclusively leased by NY&A. I have to assume the (non-existant) maintenance is under LIRR. And I think they're referring to the one that's stuck in the closed position, the southernmost one

Handy- Doug - it is possible to walk the rails from Bush Terminal (65 St/4th ave Sunset Park)- to English Kills Brige/Newtown Creek.. Possible to have hassles with Cops/MTA approaching - around - leaving -B'Way Junction/Eastern Pkway... was never a problem before 9-11 but now ..
got accused of terrorism --- A good thing do do is go out to the Jamaica Bay Bird Sanctuary and get free cards claiming that you are a Voluntary Urban Ranger ... It worked for me and my friends I took to the rails ... they kicked us out of the tracks but no trespass/terrorism charges and no fines ... we said we were looking to photo wildlife!!
