Keilidh, Mt. Pumpy can back me up. One-line D&D recap: "Listen, Ordgar, just open the tomb, OK? Catching on fire and hanging by your ankle are going in your annual review, you know."
Slight expansion: "Many tombs were raided! Many unique and painstakingly crafted undead creations were dispatched without a second thought!
I think the closest the party had come to a TPK -- the SEXY SUPERGHAST had paralyzed everyone but Utropia and Erras -- who used a new spellbook to summon a fire elemental, which made the spellbook turn into a wall scorpion that kept shooting caustic shit at him through its cloaca as he had to concentrate on not having the elemental go berserk. I think if Xunugul had failed his last save and been brought back up as a charmed servant with ghoul powers, that might have done it for the party, but Utropia won some die rolls and took out the SEXY SUPERGHAST. And didn't even care."

front row of McCarter (sp.?) Theatre at Princeton University
i was still in high school and did not drive, went with a pen pal who was in her early 20s -- my parents were totally freaking out

...my best friend had moved away, came back to visit maybe a year later looking like peter pan dressed all in green. said are you a punk? i said fuck you you're a punk! he said no, like a "punk" it's a good thing! i didn't get it and he told me about kiss. maybe to children that was punk? i wasn't very childlike at 12 and i just thought it was 4 clowns playing submediocre songs in a lacklustre way.
- so i still hadn't learned about punk.

next time i heard about punk: a different best friend had moved away, came back to visit wearing black leather and safety pins and little star pins...(he'd always dressed in black before that anyway)
lent me the clash's first album - which flung open the floodgates.
i'd been hearing about the sexpistols spitting on reporters and being generally unappreciative of their audiences so i had trouble reconciling these songs of justice and love with these other assholes. to me, it seemed, sexpistols were punks; clash was a garage band.

my band followed suit and did a version of "misty"

An old friend has come back to town…and with a lot to say! Old Man Gloom is back with another seminar to salve the soul. This disc hits hard and proper in the way Old Man Gloom do best. If you are a fan, or not, I think it would behoove anyone that digs the heavy and/or hearty to stick their fork in OMG’s Seminar IX: Darkness of Being and take a big bite of doom-laden glee. profoundlorerecords.bandcamp.com...
A throwback to a couple of years ago…Green Druid’s Ashen Blood LP has reminded me of not only why I dig them, but as the first time around did, it also reminds me of so much I like about 90s doom. True to a form that brings to mind likes of bands that rhyme with ‘bleep’ and ‘lizard’, this sucker brings the crunch and takes it’s time cutting through the cheeba fog to imprint it’s hooves on your brain. greendruid.bandcamp.com...

and when Nancy came into the picture, so many of us thought that she was just "some crazy chick from Philly"
it was not until i read Nancy's Mother's book that i learned that while it seemed that Nancy was absolutely brilliant, she also had serious mental issues :(
