Janis Joplin & The Grateful Dead  Turn On Your Love Light   Favoriting Live At Euphoria Ballroom in California - July 16, 1970  Grateful Dead   1970  This song "Turn On Your Love Light" was written by band leader and arranger Joe Scott (with an additional credit given to Duke Records owner/producer Don Robey aka Deadric Malone). It was originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1961. / In 1967, "Turn On Your Love Light" became a staple of Grateful Dead concerts, sung by Ron "Pigpen" McKernan & a 15-minute rendition is on their 1969 double live album "Live/Dead." / Joplin had a brief romance with Ron and was friendly with the other members of the band with whom she lived nearby. He skippered a trading schooner in the Caribbean after earning his master's license, and in 1937 he served as mate on a world cruise of the schooner Yankee. After serving as sailor and fireman on larger vessels and sailing around the world several times, he was awarded his 1st command at age 22, skippering the square rigger Florence C. Peter Sellers, Slim Pickens  Now Dimitri... / When Johnny Comes Marching Home   Favoriting Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb    1964  Slim Pickens was born Louis Burton Lindley Jr. in Kingsburg, California, the son of Sally Mosher (née Turk) and Louis Bert Lindley Sr., a Texas-born dairy farmer. Young Lindley was an excellent horse rider from an early age. Known as "Burt" to his family and friends, he grew bored with dairy farming and began to make a few dollars by riding broncos and roping steers in his early teens. His father found out and forbade this activity, but Lindley took no notice, went to compete in a rodeo, and was told by the doubtful rodeo manager that there would be "slim pickins" (i.e. little chance of any prize money) for him. To prevent his father from discovering that he had competed, he entered his name as Slim Pickens, and won $400 that afternoon. Lindley graduated from Hanford High School, Hanford, California, and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He joined the rodeo, billed as Slim Pickens, and eventually became a well-known rodeo clown. During World War II, he enlisted in the United States Army. Reportedly when the recruiter asked him his profession, he responded "Rodeo". This was misread on a form as "radio", and he spent his entire enlistment at a radio station in the American Midwest. After nearly 20 years of rodeo work, e appeared in many more Westerns, playing both villains and comic sidekicks to actors such as Rex Allen. Hollywood made good use of Pickens' rodeo background. He did not need a stand-in for horseback scenes, and he was able to gallop his own Appaloosa horses across the desert, or drive a stagecoach pulled by a 6-horse team. On the way home I was losing signal and looked up at the side of a small mountain where the trees were blanketed by fog
First thing that popped in my mind was how I used to tell Spamoni 3 Mountains and 2 valleys to get home
It also made me motivated to write something. So as I’m writing the auto select on the bottom of the screen reads Spamoni. Ok I’m emotional now

Everyone ist talking about "digital teaching" etc. but they don't put any money in providing the software/servers etc. All they do is talking about giving out tablets (when?), as if this alone would do the trick.

I never had a critter eat my Jalapeños
They do take bites of Tomatoes and my dog takes bites of them. Usually chipmunks. This year many growers are complaining about the woodchuck family . One of my friends had her entire garden wiped out.
