Hello, all! Today's playlist image is a detail of Eduardo Paolozzi's "Wittgenstein in New York," from 1965.

Wow, I don't think Mahogany Rush has been on my radar for nearly 40 years, I had completely forgotten. I always thought of them as that "other Rush band".
Avatar 12:13pm
Tony Coulter:

That other Canadian Rush band!
Avatar 12:15pm
Tony Coulter:

Then there's that other Mahogany band: Mahogany Brain.

Apparently I've forgotten that they shared nationality as well. I'm not familiar with Mahogany Brain. Not that I "wood"!

Great album, this. Hi, Tony!
Avatar 12:39pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, Jeff!! Nice to see you here! It is a unique record for sure. But now, of course, I'm blowing the vibe -- I'm trying to push my eclecticism envelope today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Jeff Golick:

Eclecticism IS the vibe!

Hello Tony and all. I once saw M.A. Numminen sing the Tractatus. Got some puzzled looks for singing along

Thanks, but does it reach the level of Kenny G singing PI to Rite of Spring?
Avatar 1:36pm

Missed that one, so ... maybe not.

Watched a doc on Mal Waldron that is on YouTube. General doc with a concert celebration of his 70th birthday. Well done within the limited scope.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
WR:

Of course my preference is that the 1/2 doc would be an extra to complete footage of the concert.
Avatar 1:44pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, WR! I'll have to look for that doc -- I'm a big Waldron fan.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
WR:

The band for the concert was Andrew Cyrille, Steve Lacy and Reggie Workman, with interviews from each of them. Also Jeanne Lee participated, performance & interview. Like I said, nice but wanting much more. Max Roach also interviewed accompanying short clip of incredible Abby Lincoln song.

Fred, I'm going to look for the Tractatus as a comedy song by M.A. Numminen. Cannot imagine it.

Don't worry Tony, Microsoft will do all the can to bury zoom with MS Teams.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
WR:

That bit of zoom banter moved me to look at their corp history out of curiosity as to why Google hasn't bought them and I see that it is largely a mainland Chinese operation.

Good grief, I had that Magna Carta album back in the day.
So hi Tony!
