'Who By Numbers' 1975 was the tail end of The Who.01 - as Keith Moon was still not entirely dissolute & they were still the mighty power they were Live - yet Pete is already into his midlife 'I hate Rawk' writing. Moon died in 1978 just after being propped up enuff to finish 'Who Are You' - & that was that. Then they had a long period when they essentially failed to replace the Fire element Moon provided - until Ringo's son Zak was brought in to Drum - but as Who crazy as I am I haven't much picked up on anything Pete writes anymore I'm afraid... I'm fine with them being their own Tribute band. They deserve it...

I was underwhelmed when Who By Numbers started getting airplay on its release. Some of it grew on me. But I think being underwhelmed by new material from prominent or even favorite artists was a standard mode back then for some reason. Expectations, judgement and the brain....go figure, huh?
