Linda Lee: it is true that if there are no words for your experience, it may be nearly impossible to understand it. Until i heard the word "genderqueer" in the '90s, i wasn't sure why i identified so intensely with queer communities
Avatar 3:39pm
Linda Lee:

now i can basically drop the 'bi' designation as well, since the binary doesn't make sense at all to me, but in 1980 it was binary or nothing. :-D

There's an interesting article in the new Harper's about the use of They as a singular pronoun from a linguistics perspective. I got a lot out of it and felt newly energized for evolving language.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

one definition of bisexual i like is, "i am attracted to people who share my gender identity and to people who have a different gender identity"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Franco Twinkie:

Chrestis son first came out to me. He was acting unsettled and I asked him what was wrong. He said "I think I'm gay."I said "Is that all?!?!" I made sure he understood it made no difference to me. I would get mad at him if he put his dirty socks on the dining room table, but never for having sex with other boys.

I was strongly considering trepanation some 5 years ago until I watched a documentary and saw all the Mello-Dementia victims who achieved their permanently stoned state. I just thought it would help with migraines.

if i had to hear "Hotel California," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "Don't Stop Believin'" every time, i would rebel!

Oh wow, ARB! I used to be obsessed with trepanation too!
I finally figured I needed that like a hole in my head.

That bullfighting cheese acid trip was my favorite thing I’ve heard since the last favorite thing I heard.

I am very happy you did not go through with it ARB. Read too many stories over the years, but did have a passing interest in the subject years ago, it's fascinating. Just listen to The Eagles or solo Don Henley, will do the trick.

That song is geographically incorrect anyhow. There is no South Detroit, South Detroit is Canada

Granny - All 3 make me want to pick up the cats and run. However, at a karaoke bar after a bottle of wine, all bets are off.
