Never saw the Go-Go's, but did see The Eyes, featuring chresti's former roommate. A super band. Happy birthday, chresti! Those old fuzzy videos of the early Go-Go's definitely depict a band not quite ready for prime time, but all the more lovable for that fact.

I avoided X in their prime and always. So sue me. But I would have loved to have seen the Randoms. Both bands played the Masque Benefit on the second night, which I didn't make. And of course the drummer for the Eyes was D.J. Bonebrake.

P-90.I first saw X practicing at The Masque on a Sunday afternoon. About a month later I saw them open for The Screamers at The Whiskey. They were ragged at first, but every subsequent time they were better. Meaner, tougher, more musical.
