I'm old enough to have had a Steve Austin (the bionic man) action figure and the Bigfoot figure. Though he looked more Jerry Garcia than Sasquatch. www.pinterest.com...

@mariano Cool! I wanted the Steve Austin action figure so bad, but my parents thought I already had too many GI Joes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
mariano:

slugluv: That's the one! There was even an action figure of his boss, Oscar Goldman. Pauly: Yeah, over a span of years I had a GI Joe and there was also one called Big Jim, who had a flexing bicep. Got so pissed off in 2nd grade when my teacher referred to my Bionic Man as a doll :P

I had one of those. An odd toy that virtually invited kids to indulge their sadistic streaks (let's come up with something like a rack to him on).

Eventually mine, in some way or another, I'm not on trial here, split open. It was full of a red gel. I'm not going to say that was unsatisfying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
Pauly from Clifton:

@mariano yeah the "doll" thing was infuriating at that age. @slugluv1313 I hear ya! Especially Emma Peel. Which Catwoman by the way?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
mariano:

Yep, Stretch was full of red gel, I remember that.

Thanks Devon, bye everyone.
Avatar 7:56pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I had a side line in those 12'' figures ...but the 8" superhero figures I *collected*... There was some FMUvian wrote an essay about G.I. Joe - then another wrote an answer about being downscale with Action Jackson...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
ultradamno:

Up there with Deep Red and Cat for my favorite Argento that isn't Suspiria
Avatar 7:57pm
slugluv1313:

@mariano -- that is awesome! (i know someone who paid a LOT of money for a Steve Austin figure, spaceship, accessories)
and yeah, for some reason when they are little, they are called "action figures," when larger, "dolls" -- especially by Moms, female teachers, etc. -- even know! (recalling a Mom's comment about an Action Jackson figure, referring to him as a "doll")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm

There was an artist in San Francisco in the 90s who made some really funny photos of GI Joes at gay beach parties and such.
